I have to make a hard decision on when my puppy dies....

RIP big guy!

Edit- We lost him last week. He was all in up to the last, wanting to play, stay with me despite his illness. Rest easy!
Edit--Vet removed the spleen and some lymph-nodes. He has sent them off for testing but his 30+ yrs said its is cancer. He has been diagnosed with Splenetic lymphoma. Its an aggressive disease that ends in death of the animal and at best he will only have 4-5 months with extreme treatment (vet oncologist) , which I cant really afford. So my real decision is have him put down today, or bring him home and support him for 2-3 weeks until its time. Life sucks

OP, no matter what you do, you will second guess yourself. Do not let your dog be in agony.

The advice my vet gave me was to think of his three favorite things in the world and when he stops enjoying them it’s time.

First, I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. For me, the question would be, "Is he suffering right now?" Answer that and choose. :(

My advice is to let him go when he stops living for him and starts living for you. Enjoy what time you do have left with him. I'm sorry.

My dog died from cancer in his spleen. He was fine for about 8 months and then quickly declined, which is when we chose to put him down.

Thank you. Hoping he had enough quality life to make it until my son comes home from leave but not going to cause him to suffer

With my kitty I knew it was time and she was unhappy when she would no longer attempt to eat. Sorry OP and don't second guess yourself.

That’s why we did the removal. Takes pressure off the stomach area so he can eat
