Girlfriend of two years left me. Came home from work and everything is gone. No tv, no bed, she even took the shower curtains. At least my couch was here. My best friend brought me a blanket and a pillow to hold me over until I can buy new stuff... drinking this bottle so I can sleep. He also brought me a giant giraffe teddy to keep me company. Thought it was fitting for Imgur. Giraffery likes classic thrash metal so much stole my hat from me, I don't mind though. ****************** Is most viral the front page? I usually just lurk this site. Thanks for all the love people. I'm hung over and not even sure how I'm up, drinking some water and going back to sweet, sweet sleep. Send boobs? Send music recommendations? I like a lot of metal, thrash, black, death... heavy, catchy riffs get me every time. ****************** One more thing. Love the True Lies reference from a few of you. Arnold movies are some of my favorites.

not exactly a "metal" band but Queens of the stone age has helped me get through some tough times!!! P.S want a good whiskey get leadslinger

Sorry to hear that I know you probably don't see it atm but you are better off without her and it does get better

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congrats mate. Now you're young, wild, and free. Stack paper. Fuck bitches. Live life.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

Is this a thing people do, just take off after years? Was there at least some discussion before?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Lol @ imaging a giraffe head-banging. Hang in there brother. Life is about to get so much better for you after you process this!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Here imgur goes again, jumping to conclusions.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 2

Poor choice of woman, fine choice of drink! Good luck @op

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was most of the stuff bought with her money? Or is she a thief

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

The real question here. Either you done fucked up or she's straight up robbed you.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

you had me at whiskey and thrash metal. Cheers pal.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is indeed... I bought the 12 year old one for a friend on his birthday, it was delicious.

I've seen this stuff before but haven't gotten it. Worth a try?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is defo worth a try if you like single malts.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Check out the band Emancipator. Their music is really calming and complex.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

U wan sum fuk?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll give sympathy when it's known why you broke up, I know friends who have taken everything after a partner cheated.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Being cheated on doesn't justify stealing tho

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

He said she bought it all...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know... just as an example... not accusing you of anything.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Get well man, show your demons how it's done. Try Deathspell Omega, Gojira, August Burns Red, Thy Darkened Shade, Born of Osiris...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

August Burns Red mmmmmyes

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope, never cheated.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I seriously don't understand how people can be so disrespectful. You'll find a silver lining, I'm sure of it.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 9

Hopefully, at least a curtain lining! Eh?! Eh?! Too soon?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don’t have all the facts, what if he beat the shit out of her and she fled when she could. I️ just don’t get siding with some1 when 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

What if he didn't. Calm your tits, Caren.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

You don’t have the whole story.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

When reading posts like this I keep wondering how people end up having relationships where at least one of the participants are too...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...immature to even have a proper sit-down to talk things out. But then I remember my own previous dating history and it all makes sense.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I left a fiance like this. Because I tried to talk about it, and he got furious and started hitting walls and saying I was never leaving /1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

him. So, yeah. Shit's scary. I had to make sure I was safe. /2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can see that. And in your case he was obviously the immature one. It's never fun when a relationship ends, but communication is key.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry to hear about your circumstances mate. Can you tell me how the whisky compares to Jack Daniels or Maker's Mark? :)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's a blend. Light and sweet. Not a bourbon like makers or shitty piss whiskey like jack.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Not my favorite though. I wouldn't buy it myself, it was a birthday gift from my ex girls dad. About 70 dollars a fifth.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That sounds crazy expensive to me, especially for a blend. I paid 45 Euro for a 12 year old single malt and thought that was expensive...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have absolutely no idea what a fifth is. I hear it in rap songs and get so confused. Sounds like my kind of drink though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I call .750 litre a fifth because fifth sounds cooler, and I'm a cool guy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1/5 (1/5 of a gallon) is about 7 oz shy of liter. That Whiskey is nice, I tried it this weekend. Smooth & light.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You think I know how much an ounce is?..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

However, I can see on the bottle that it's 750mL (which is standard for a bottle of spirits), so 7oz is ~ 250mL?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fifth of a gallon buddy.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your mate bought you (a grown ass man) a giraffe teddy to cuddle?

8 years ago | Likes 576 Dislikes 20

What's wrong with that? Hubby is 47 & I'm 48. We have 4 Teds in the bed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like a good mate.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You got a problem m8?! I'll bash yer hed in! I swear on me mum!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

A giraffe and a bottle of Hibiki, he has his eyes on the big prize????????????????????

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yep he's a funny guy. We fuck around a lot.

8 years ago | Likes 467 Dislikes 1

And what's wrong with you? Jealous?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Well, yeah, I mean, no one's bought me a stuffed giraffe...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What's your address?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'am not falling for this again. fool me once shame on you, fool me for the tenth time and I must be autistic...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, I'm autistic too so that makes two of us. Who knows, I might get you for secret santa. I already have the stuffed giraffe.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even the shower curtain? What a bitch...

8 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 28

That's legit grinch status

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I mean maybe she bought the shower curtain. Maybe she bought all that stuff. Maybe OP cheated, or was a mooch, or whatever. We don’t know.

8 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 4

This!

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

If she paid for those things then she has the right to take them.. we don't know the whole story.

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 4

I don’t see why you’re being downvoted. You have every right to take your property with you, op says nothing about who owned what.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I spent ages shopping for my shower curtain. Had to special order it because I'm very particular. Better fucking believe I'd take it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There might be a chance op wasn’t the innocent one here. I took everything down the the toilet paper when my ex-bf cheated. Js

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

The fact that he won't answer the question 20 people have asked kinda makes him seem guilty of something.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was thinking the exact same thing

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You spelled *cunt wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 20

Took the words right out of my mouth

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Yup

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 12

I mean... That's just plain weird.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Must be related to Tom Arnold's ex-wife from True Lies https://media.giphy.com/media/13HKgUgqVzpTXi/giphy.gif

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm thinking a lot of people on here don't own nice shower curtains that they like.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

... or petty.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

A weird, petty bitch.

Alright my bad. Let's wait and see

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He did say he was going to sleep....

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ya guys he drank a bottle of hibiki, let him sleep it off

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Asking the critical question.

8 years ago | Likes 231 Dislikes 0

Yeah, a bunch of things were hers. I made the mistake of giving away a ton of stuff when we moved in. My couch is pretty comfy though.

8 years ago | Likes 138 Dislikes 2

I know how that feels man, same situation earlier this year. It get better but it fucking sucks now. Make sure to grieve in time.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

hold on bud, its just stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

what he sed. If You're still breathing tomorrow that's one more day you have achieved victory over

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Change your locks in case she decides to come back for more stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

He just said it was her stuff. She's entitled to it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If not, then she robbed him.

8 years ago | Likes 278 Dislikes 5

I like how he thinks. If she robbed then you should totally call the cops and get your stuff back

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

That's why I asked

8 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

Not necessarily. If my partner and I split I'd be left with a few pots, bookshelf, rug, desk and bed sheets cuz he bought the rest.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

When I left my fiance I only took my own stuff, which was hardly anything. He got mad that I took the alarm clock, which was mine.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Good thing you left him, anyone who gets mad over an alarm clock probably has issues.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that's what I would do. But he earns more than me so he's bought more stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was the same for me, I was a student and he was working, so basically I just had my clothes and books that were mine. That's all I took.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having seen this before I can tell you the cops won't do a damn thing.

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

That’s cause we legally can’t. You need documentation of who owns what. Since there is no paper trail, how can I state a crime has happened

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I'm now going to keep all my credit card receipts

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is why I don't call police. Best case, they tell you they can't help. Worst case, your life is wrecked for trusting a public servant.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm confused as to how it's the police's fault that you can't keep records like an adult. Manage your shit and they help as much as they can

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Many Reciepts are emailed these days. I️ make a point to get an emailed receipt for all major purchases when possible. (1/?)

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

If you have a loyalty account receipts are often stored in association to it. (2/?)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hibiki is easily one of my favorite, good taste!

8 years ago | Likes 127 Dislikes 2

15 year old yoichi is my jams.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yamazaki is better but I’m too poor

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

First and only time I drank one was in a bar, it was sitting on the top shelf (one without pricing). Ask for it randomly. I don't regret it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tried this for the first time a month ago! I normally HATE whiskey, but this went down so well! It was like 17 years old i think...SO NICE

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I currently have a fondness for monkey shoulder. I want to try some Japanese though

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

+1 for Monkey Shoulder

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hibiki is perfect to start for getting into Japanese whiskey. Monkey Shoulder is one of my favorites!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Monkey Shoulder is very solid and good bang for your buck

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a bourbon guy, I find the Japanese whisky to be very much in the Scotch style so you'll probably be in good shape.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Monkey Shoulder is my go to blend these, so smooth!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From Suntory I prefer Toki for taste. But for best Japanese Whiskey I say Nikki from Yoichi!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nikka From the Barrel is nice, too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yamazaki is also made by Suntory. Its very good.If you like Monkey Shoulder try Buchanan 12yr.Similar taste profiles.A little smoother imo.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I have put it on my list and will keep an eye out for it. My monkey is a little low, so might be a good time to get something to back it up

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love Iwai and Hkushu (probably wrong spelling). Thr masters select of Hibiki is very nice

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I also have an Aberfeldy that I very much enjoy. It's like getting punched in the face with an oak log. But in a good way

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To each their own, but Hibiki is the roughest of all 9 I brought back from Japan. It's usually the last thing left on the shelves in Tokyo.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

My hands down fave is Ichimaru Chichibu single malt... Lots of fond memories attached

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's an acquired taste I feel, I use to not be able to stand stuff that strong until I started trying various whiskeys but damn good to >

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

know about it being the last thing on the shelves there, I'll drink it for them!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WTF is going here? Everyone is getting dumped left and right. Why can't you gah goos keep a girl? Damn! Did you not see the signs though?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

November is the stress pit of the year due to student finals, business getting ready for the sales and fiscal ends 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 and all that stress is salt in the wounds of a relationship as people lash out in anger.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Interesting...Are you just saying that or is this an actual fact. Do people report higher levels of break up in November?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Statistics do show that before major holidays, like Christmas/Valentine’s, there’s an uptick in breakups. It’s to avoid buying gifts.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I read somewhere that November is also the month where most people die.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From working in Cust.Service. we get the most "breakdowns" starting mid Nov. & half those people tell you their life's story for "sympathy"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It does escalate the most right before and after Christmas of course.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sooo... How long are you and your partner together then?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

15 years my dude! I couldn't get rid of her even if I tried.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

We got a 5.75 year old kid too! It takes work man! WORK! And patience. And you can't take shit personally. Also! Pick your battles.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I have a 10 year old kid from a previous relation. It does take work but sometimes you have to choose for your own sanity.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@op I hope you pull trough. Breaking up is terrible. Wether your the one doing the breaking or the one left behind.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And am currently engaged with my girlfriend of 7 years. So i now the work that is needed.
