It’s going to be a shame when his self fabricated steering assembly fails on the highway while he’s going 75 and he takes out some soccer mom’s mini van and kills 3 kids.
A while ago I wanted to get more mechanically savvy and I was looking into "build a bike" kits, and there's a way to register your newly made bike and receive a serial number and etc.
However, between the time I looked, the price for a kit went from around 4k for a 250hp cruiser to like 28k because no one made the kits anymore and they were all custom, so .. .none for me.
Not as many as you would think. A design like this with a heavy and low, middle centre mass would not achieve enough spin force to flip more than once or twice, either end over end, or side over side, not like first or second generation suvs, where the centre of mass is so high, all they wanna do is flip.

The lack of rear view mirrors bugs me

How do people afford to be able to do this?

It would be insanely dangerous to get road head in this vehicle.
nation543
I'm sure that it varies by state, but realistically as long as it has headlights and blinkers, it's street legal.
In states like MT and WY, you could drive a four wheeler down the main road, wearing a helmet or not, as long as it has headlights and blinkers.

He said “25 years building that” so many times I was waiting for someone to plow into it when he pulled out…lol

You're probably correct but Leno is kind of a POS, especially after all the bullshit he did to Conan.

I think most states do this as an “assembled vehicle” https://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/assembled-vehicles

I'm pretty sure the inspiration can be found on Bespin not Tattooine. Looks more like the Twin-pod cloud car than a pod racer.

3 wheel vehicles fall under motorcycle regulations so im sure its legal

Isn't sideview mirrors necessary?
ThailandExpress
28 of the 50 states as well as Washington DC have no requirement for mirrors at all. The other 22 require either one or two mirrors. https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles/comments/8iidup/is_it_legal_to_have_no_mirrors_on_your_bike_in

Driving in DC is crazy enough, but without side mirrors?! Is it for diplomats that don't use them at home?

Cool... I mean that feels dangerous.
