I fought so hard to protect my stray dog too. I had him for half the game. Rip skyrim doggo
muttonmutton
I think you are playing the Sims.
KitsuKuchiki
Nooo... I can't play Skyrim again, I'm working on Witcher 3 ;---; Dangit.
MissAizea
I hate that you can't unadopt kids
EchoOfSnac
My hobo-children never wanted animals. =(
spooderman666
This is beautiful. It’s like insane mid evil sims or some shit.
QuentinBlackk
From start to finish, that was a helluva ride.
digme
In real life I have 2 adopted children and we had 2 dogs and It sounds like that was all easier and less stressful than playing Skyrim.
phs1706
Skyrim is being invaded by Thomas the Tank Engines, never heard of "Dragons"
Jamesbro
Same thing happened in Farcry with Cheeseburger, I've done nothing but pet him for 4 days and protect him from the cult. Send help.
AeternalDreamer
Before this post I honestly didn't even know you COULD have a pet dog, after hundreds of hours in Skyrim.
TheMightyMoto
Best skyrim story ever.
jlcooper939
Accidentally hit Boomer with a bat in Far Cry 5 yesterday. I’ve never hated myself more.
alsoAzrael
Boomer is the FUCKING SHIT! That dog is the only companion I need. It helps that he has a good command interface.
HairyPicklePuller
You know he's not making this up for laughs, because he makes no mention of playing the story line.
There's a story line in Skyrim? Are you sure?
Felderburg
The developer responded: https://twitter.com/TheSMUSpaz/status/849983479567835136
DarkStarsz
Wait wait wait... you can build houses and adopt children AND a dog in skryim? Are we talking about the same game here...?
V1K1NGFVNERAL
Some of that came with later DLC.
CaptCanada
yeah hearth fire, three houses to build and 11 kids to adopt think you can adopt more if you kill their parents with no one noticing
Foopfoop
Irrational love, real estate woes, fixing problem after problem, shitty kids... sounds like real adult life.
Cole2999
Shooting at a guy until he flies into a circle of necromancers... Sounds like a Wednesday night
deathcakez
zamkowicz
KranjisMcBasketball
You can't adopt orphans once Helgrod is dead?
TheVampireDante
Kill her, assistant takes over then you get a letter from the courier saying adoptions are available. Takes a few days normally.
What I love is how she freaks out about the murder at first, and then later nicely asks you to come back to take the kids off her hands.
funkyphil101wastakensoichosethis
Not right away. Gotta wait like a skyrim day or something I think. I’m pretty sure you can’t adopt until after she’s dead
WhatTheFunkBro
HOW DO YOU ADOPT A DOG I NEVER KNEW YOU COULD DO THAT IN SKYRIM
theycallmewillywonka
I also did not know this. Is it just for PC?
mindfunkie
like you think you can adopt a lot of dogs or just one?
rabbiebabbie
Idk but at some point I had a follower a dog and a quest dog following me and I had like a goddam army
RagingRomaineLettuce
.
Zephronias
Aside from the handful of adoptable ones in the game and the quest followers (BARBAS RULES), there are also mods for adoptable dogs.
I fucking hated that dog. Kept detecting me and pushing me around while I was trying to do things. Made everything harder.
haunter64
there is Meeko, the one in this story, the DG Syberian Huskies, more same model dogs, 2 Deathhounds, some other critters but they wont follo
death hounds wont be accepted by your family, there vigilance outside markarth and a random event where you save a dog from wolves
PrincessAnus
vigilance makes me happy
zathmi
Take a left as soon as you come out of the village you escape from at the very beginning. He's a little ways away just out in the wilderness.
BuzzScumcock
Gotta lure Aerin away and kill him when she’s not around, she never even mentions it if you do that.
matthewcw07
Or use a frenzy pot on him, then you can kill him without aggroing anyone
Idk if its the mod that fixes unfinished stuff from bethesda or not, but some npcs like Mionne mourn the friends with generic voiced lines
Like "My friend died, blabalabla" i forgot the exact quote
Agisek
I adopted a cat instead, his name is Kharjo and I make him cute outfits and he tells me he can smell the enemies sneaking up on us
Aww
- but doesn't notice the Dragon sitting behind him toasting his tail.
Hereagain
You can build houses?
Psilopat
I should add that you don't need the dlc in legendary edition, already included
Yeah its a DLC that I spend a ridiculous amount of time on for some reason. Like I've got 4 fully furnished homes for nobody
OldmanSerious
I think you need one of the DLCs
mtgtprh
The Hearthfire DLC adds three plots of land that you can get after becoming Thane in that hold. You can build a five-part house on each plot
A base house, a main hall, and three wings with options for rooms: bedroom, kitchen, magic tower, trophy hall, etc.
Goddamn. I guess I have to play Skyrim again.
stalkerofstorms
If you happen to have it on PC, you can also download tons of different mods that allow you to build all sorts of houses. Pretty great.
Nah, just PS4. Still working on the scratch for a sick gaming PC.
LokiShinigami
She tried to kill me, but unfortunately I am the High King of Skyrim. Regicide is punishable by death! But of course!
johnfromnorway
Somebody comment that post

You only have to wait until the replacement at the orphanage is ready. And you could have put the kids bed in Breezehome
hockeyham
He was too focused on real estate
PompatusOfLove
Or jam an arrow into your knee and retire. And don't forget to tell everyone about it.

Whoever downvotes this comment must be bitter about loosing his/her sweet roll.
But then this wonderfully anxiety-filled life story would not have existed. And thus the world would be a less colorful place

But of course, he didn't know that
MarkOfTheCovenant
He said he wanted a house by the lake. It's right in the story.
grapesforducks
Funny thing is, turns out that house is haunted, and eventually the family will agitate to leave
StarkMan
avrilest
He would still need to a be a Thane in Whiterun and make money to upgrade his house. Less work than building the manor, but work nonetheless
Alfadorfox
Technically you don't need to be Thane to purchase Breezehome, you just need to get the Dragonstone from Bleak Falls Barrow.
TommyCreo
Also I can't help but think that the dog was probably immortal, like most followers are. Don't know for sure though.
Setfox
Nope, he is not: https://youtu.be/918gFAZQW7k?t=1506
I'm fairly certain most followers are not important... *guilty look*
The365
I have never wanted to play Skyrim until now
Virunuss
Solid game. This is all real. However most normal people will save scum when things go wrong rather than get this stressed.
Not only that, this may convince me to get PSVR with Skyrim too
AggresiveSquinter
Do it with mods
Naveedamin7992
Any in particular? I've never played skyrim so anything that makes it more fun/enjoyable would be great.

As long as you have the Hearthfire DLC. But that is the cheapest DLC so yeah
ApexWarrior848
But if they have a Xbox one or PS4 then it just comes with the game you can’t get the game without the dlc since it’s included
Them darn kids today don't know how good they have it! In my day you had to buy every dlc uphill both ways seven miles in the snow!
Hell yeah we did they get the dlc included I spent extra money to play the dlc they get the game and the dlc for less than I paid originally
HerNameWasMagil
I started playing it recently after finishing AC Origins. It’s beautiful. Getting the house and adopting the beggar children were the
First things I did.
Frogthebountyhunter
I'm too busy making hella cash to fool with the kids
I’ve found they’re super critical when I come in to the house crashing into shit. I’ll knock the bowl over if I want to, LUCIA.
I hated when Ysolda would roast my dog when I was at the house doing shit. I made her a vampire as revenge but still
Skyrim sounds like an... Interesting game...
cosine83
It's funner to read about than play.
Shineupordown
I am consumed by Oblivion atm..and i plan to play Skyrim next..social life gone (not that i had it in a first place tho)
anarkhiya
Absolutely is. Factoring in my Xbox 360 summer break hours and my PC modded adventures, maybe 2000 hours?
juanswansong
Solid game with a Fuckton of replay value my friend highly recommend it
ElectricOwl99
