This happened on our wonderful 635

This happened to a radio host here in Chattanooga, he busted the guys window with a hatchet, and got a bullet in the upper arm...

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That guy in the red car is an asshole.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I live in Dallas and I can 100% confirm this actually happens more than you think.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Got forced off the road yesterday. Car exited the passing lane, then as I passed they sped up and got right next to me as the lanes merged.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The red car clearly had the right of way.

7 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 6

Texas has castle laws that extend to your vehicle. Other guy could have shot him in the dick and would have been applauded in local news.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Dammit Butters!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m back here, from Florida, sayin, “finally some other state!”

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In fairness they do have red cars. Doesn't that make it clear enough?

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Everyone knows red cars are the fastest

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Live in Dallas can confirm all of this is true. If you use your blinkers out here you’re just giving away your plans to the enemy

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

No shit right ! i have seen cars floor it to move up 2 car lengthd ahead casue they saw someone wantted to change lanes

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Nice HHR." - Nobody

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Two assholes fucking up traffic for everyone else.

7 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 3

Just one

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I feel like that's the definition of a traffic jam.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Dallas native here. Everything looks pretty fucking normal to me.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Dr. Strange saw 14 million ways this scenario could have ended better but our timeline chose the dumbest one

7 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

If somebody starts wailing on your car with a melee weapon and you shoot them, is that classified as self-defense?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just FYI, if you’re in a state such as TX or AZ... you better not road rage. Especially if you’re bringing a knife to a gunfight.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't know if I'm more disturbed by the attack or the fact that the dash cam is recording in pOrtRaIt mode. Srsly, wtf.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's even weirder that the 'dash cam' is floating just in front of the drivers seat. Seems like that might obscure the view a bit.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My bad. Not actually a dash cam. Where did I come up with that?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gif end too soon

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Once you've severely damaged another car with bat or crowbar, they have nothing left to lose. So all civilised restrictions are removed.

7 years ago | Likes 393 Dislikes 6

in a state where over half carrys a gun in some way , i would not push my luck

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mean I get what you're saying but I don't think that's how the law works.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

True. It's just how people work, at their worst.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except his life?

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

The guy in the red car?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s a machete, he’s lucky he wasn’t shot dead. If I watched this as a juror I would have to call it self defense.

7 years ago | Likes 116 Dislikes 4

Once orange car got back in red car became aggressor

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

No the speeding up and rapid lane change was still an aggressive move

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It'd be self defense if the car shot him dead.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

Its Texas. The red car probably got arrested for not shooting him

7 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 2

This!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where he was hitting is part of the unibody and by a seem. So probably not getting that out. Maybe fill and repaint.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And people complain about the Massholes

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Well to be fair ... they are massholes.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I dont see road rage like that though

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I think Philadelphia drivers are more aggressive lane changing, and Massachusetts drivers speed and brake late. Texas ga and fla for rage.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Masshole here. My first visit to Dallas, my cousin tells me "Careful merging, the onramps are really short compared to back home." (1/2)

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nobody has shorter ramps and merge lanes than Massachusetts.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No one has more idiots stop on the ramp at the merge point than Massachusetts. Seen it waaay too often.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I ended up merging faster than the freeway traffic. I don't think she rode with me after that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hello fellow Masshole. How shorter were the ramps? I'm up to speed in a Prius around Worcester.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You get a short, straight ramp from a 40mph service road adjacent/parallel to the freeway. Imagine merging onto 290 from Kelley square (1/2)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

... but you start at 40mph on the ramp. (Hello from across Worcester).

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a lifelong Dallasite, welcome to my last 35 years of driving. Commuting is definitely a contact sport here.

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Which is why I'm getting the fuck out. Can't stand all these selfish drivers.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I move there, I'm upgrading my CVPI with heavy duty PIT bars on the front and back.

Thx

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bless you child

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

u da real mvp

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I drive this route six days a week. There are always accidents during the day and routinely shootings at the nearby strip clubs.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I wonder if anyone else called the police and gave the license plate numbers.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This is why I refuse to drive on 35

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

It was 635

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this a regular enough occurrence in Texas??

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The terrible traffic and bad drivers? Yes. Ever since Californians moved to Texas traffic’s been hell.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

It has gotten worse lately.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Road rage is every urban area in the country, but this traffic is normal lately in dfw.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Usually in this instance it's the person with the crappier car, or no insurance, that wins.

7 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

jokes on them: neither of them have insurance!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Are there really no consequences to driving with no insurance?

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

only if you don't get caught

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tbh it really depends on the circumstances of the incident. There are some situations where the officer on scene knows the system is never /

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

going to be able to get any money out of the person and shit just kind of doesn't go any further.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

A fine.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Garnished wages?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Star struck. Hi Mayor Pete!

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Never done that. Thought about it tho.

7 years ago | Likes 418 Dislikes 4

We all think about it. For far less than that. But there's an important line that only the crazy people cross.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

you mean use a machete on another car?

7 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Yep. I live near Atlanta. Traffic can be like that. It's also why my wife is not allowed to own a gun. We simply don't have the bail money.

7 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 1

Can you help me tell dumbasses on 285 that the match tragic speeds when merging from the on ramps?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(1) Look, I can understand the frustration with other people, but remember that the difference between a good and bad person could be simply

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

(2) thinking about doing something and not doing it, or letting that thought push you into being like Mr Machete over there.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I like that the Subaru pitted the asshole with road rage.

7 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 5

I just want to know what the pitted driver thought was gonna happen. Did they think they might be able to lose other driver in the traffic?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think they're both assholes. Why people can't just back off and let people merge is beyond me like its a personal affront to let people in

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I like how the Subie just went straight and dude pitted himself on it.

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Does he just have a machete lying around in his car?!

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

It's Texas....you kinda need to be armed. Everyone else usually is.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No he forged that one right then and there

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've always kept one under my back seat.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do you not?

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

No, but I always have an ear of corn at the ready.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fair point.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hah I dunno who I dislike more here.

7 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

I'm with the Subaru. Give and take, at that point just go behind him

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They’re both pricks. But the PT Loser probably takes the cake by escalating this to assault with a deadly weapon.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know it’s an HHR, but it’s still a PT Loser to me.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The red car obviously

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

agreed, needs a little bit more context. though getting out of the car and slamming on the other car with a bat is definitly negative points

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Needs more context? Both of those car owners need to go to fucking prison and anger management classes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

You can almost always use more context. What if dude on the right noticed machete guy in the car chugging booze and beating his wife before?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh you're one of those ends justify the means kind of guys. You want to play this game?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

More of a some means can be justified by some ends kind of guy.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All I see here is negative points.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

try wearing some pink glasses... I read somewhere in the internet that it helps to liven up ones perspective on life.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Sounds rosy, maybe I'll try that.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

just don't wear red glasses, or you'll have shit like what happens in this video happen... unless you're into that sort of thing.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Getting out of the car with a melee weapon in Texas where you're surrounded by ranged DPS is a bold move.

7 years ago | Likes 1416 Dislikes 7

He definitely needs more dots.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most melee dps have ways to close the distance or CC their targets, so should be ok.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sword art online has taught me that it can be done.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This confused me because here in Texas DPS is Department of Public Safety which is the organization that the State Troopers are a part of.

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

Dps as in damage per second, a damage dealer. It’s video game lingo. The joke being there is a good chance that guy had a gun.

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yeah I got it after I googled what "ranged DPS" means, mostly because Texas Rangers (law enforcement, not baseball) is also under DPS.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But how good is their DPS?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Haha, I've seen them miss more than hit. Probably safe. One ranger hits a bad guy and it's national news. What does that tell you?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Ranged against ranged, always

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Surrounded by traffic, discharging a spell there could lead to serious collateral damage and the paladins would be really pissed.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In AZ we just shoot you

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m from Texas and you gotta know how to choose your battles. If that was a lifted truck, no way that guy went out with the beater stick

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think Texas has Open carry swords

7 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

Damn straight

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

We do.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Saw a guy walking down the street with a katana. Typical Tuesday

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It does but I still haven't seen someone carrying one

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I mean, have ever seen someone try to carry one concealed?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah but isn't a way to deal with a ranged DPS to charge with a Tank?

7 years ago | Likes 134 Dislikes 2

With proper support only. You have to suppress their support and buff for their DPS before the tank can charge effectively.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's why he blocked the car AND attached from the rear lol

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The healer is in that white van

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're only a tank if you can take more than one hit...

7 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

my friend doesn't understand. says he only sees three orange cars. someone wanna help him?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That great comment that gets more upvotes than the actual post

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sure someone will repost this post with that simple comment as a title... soon..

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course, but that’s not nearly as satisfying as watching a comment score more points than the original post.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True, true.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

red cars always acting up.... they should be banned

7 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

We need more yellow cars

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think they generate sin: car-sin-o-gen.

So, I actually work for a major insurance company as a supervisor overseeing a team who makes these types of decisions. The at fault car 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does in fact appear to be the red one. 2/2

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The one in the back

"Did you even notice the car in red, Neo?" --Morpheus in the Cars/Matrix crossover film

7 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

underrated comment right here.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So, are the human battery sacks inside the cars?

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Naturally...

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

While the red car is an asshole some people need to remember that a directional is a statement of intent not a statement of right of way.

7 years ago | Likes 813 Dislikes 15

Thank you!!!!!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're both red cars.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

He means the one to far left of the screen.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I count only blue cars

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Sadly, no one in Dallas seems to believe this. ‘Hey asshole, I have my turn signal on...you must let me in!!’

7 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 6

Too true, but not what happened here.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly, in big cities if you waited for a nice person to let you in you would die of old age sitting there on the shoulder of the road...

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

It was so different when I moved here 20 yrs ago. Everyone let you in and you gave a little wave to say thanks. Now it’s just like you said

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where I live the requirement is to yield for someone who is changing lanes or merging. Not doing so can have consequences.

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

Where I am the person already in control of the lane of travel has the right of way and the merging car has greater duty to merge when safe

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

This is the same where I am. It also seems more logical to me, especially for situations like merging onto the highway.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've had a idiot actually get out of his car and come up to my window because I didn't let him cut in front of me.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, you wanted a story, ok. 70 year old dude almost crashed into the car in front of him because I didn't let him cut in front of me.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Came up to me at the lights to ask me what the hell I thought I was doing. I just yelled at him till he went back. Seriously though,

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you're a pensioner. Do you really want to get in a fight at your age? Next guy you go up to could be a psycho.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go on.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're correct, it isn't a right of way, at the same time though you don't have to be a dick, just let them in.

7 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 31

Often in cases like this it's the person trying to get in who's being a dick. If they've been able to be blocked out of the lane then...

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's likely they were trying to force their way in to a gap that wasn't big enough for them, probably because they were trying to queue jump

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm gonna guess that it was probably the HHR that tried to inch their way into an extremely small gap in standstill traffic instead of >

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

While it is nice and common courtesy to let them in, you don't just merge you, wait for room to be made.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not making a comment on him not being a dick, dude is, but to be fair they both are really.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Kinda hard to say who is the dick based on such a limited amount of info/context. Both look like dicks 1 likely is the big dick at fault.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yea they both are in this case

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I have never heard of a turn signal/indicator as a “directional”

7 years ago | Likes 158 Dislikes 6

In England, they're called "Mergy Wergies", probably.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

What are you guys talking about? I cant find one in my BMW anywhere?!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe he was influenced by spanish, here in Mexico we call them “direccionales”. Just saying.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Good point. Wasn’t saying he was wrong, just that I had never heard of it.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have never heard a blink blink called a turn indicator.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Hmmm....I've never heard of a blinkidy winkidy dinkidy called a blink blink before

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Where I live, it's a "blinker"

7 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

Blinkah

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Blinker? I barely know her!

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Where I live it’s “rare”.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's a blinker everywhere, I don't know where this guy lives.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

"Indicator" here

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Where I live they don't use them at all

7 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Ahh. Found the bmw.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Found the Masshole?

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The owners/repair manual from my 1968 firebird convertible refers to them as "courtesy lights"

7 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 2

Did it include a machete as well? Because, apparently, those are needed as well. Didn't know until now.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did it include a picture of a guy with a fedora tipping his hat?

7 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

Nobody driving a 68 firebird convertible wears a fedora. In 1968, people treated others with greater respect and courtesy while driving

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"M'firebird"

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The backstory here is the HHR hit the Subaru and tried to flee. S driver decided to ram HHR, HHR driver attacks with a machete.

7 years ago | Likes 169 Dislikes 0

I was like why would you do that to your subie. This makes sense. Thank you.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the context!

7 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 1

I didn't know mermaid vaginas were blue, the more you know I guess.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's actually the Chevy factory color name

7 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

100% serious? Cuz my boss saw it when i first bought it and thanked me for letting him see what color a mermaids vagina would look like.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I was given an HHR as a "gift" from my parents.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I wouldn’t complain, i got a “lol” and a suggestion to get a job

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

PT cruisers at least have a quirky “love it or hate it” kinda vibe. HHRs are just... bland meh

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a term used in a Google search. You do have that over in Europe, right?

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 14

Shaddddde

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where I live its intent, but it's against the law to not let someone in that has their indicator on and punishable by a fine

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 8

Yeah, it's not asking for permission. It's letting other drivers know I need to go this way. If you don't let them in, you're a loser.

Everyone else which cases everyone behind them to slam in their breaks. This really causes more traffic then getting over earlier

I agree. I let people in unless they're massive fucking assholes to me. Then, I'll let them in but stare at them and make ride gestures.

In most states you are required by law to allow traffic to merge lanes if possible.

I guess a few people failed to read the "if possible" part of my comment

Uh.. That's a fairly common law around the world. But it doesn't give the person with their indicator on the right to shove their way in.

Ofc

It’s not a law anywhere in the United States.

It’s called failure to yield. I haven’t read laws for all states but in NV you are REQd to avoid an accident if possible.

The dmv handbook isn’t the law. It’s a guide to safe driving. The statutes/law proves you’re wrong and that’s all that matters for liability

On the roads it certainly shows that most people have not read traffic laws

You’re wrong though. And continuing to spread misinformation is going to cause accidents. Read my other replies. My points been proven.

Link? Because it’s not a law in any of the states. You had to get that info from somewhere though. Unless....you made it up.

Looks like others beat me to, thanks

Read the replies to them jackass. The law only applies to the person merging. Educate yourself. Spreading misinformation is dangerous.

The person in possession of the lane has the right of way though....so how are they getting failure to yield?

http://www.dmvnv.com/pdfforms/dlbook.pdf under freeway driving ph 36 bullet 3. “...adjust your speed to allow safe and smooth merges.”

Ahh. See that’s the dmv manual for safe driving. That doesn’t mean it’s a law and so far I cannot find the NV statute for lane changes.

Nevada Revised statute 484b.263 is the statute and it only specifies the driver entering the freeway has to yield until it’s safe to merge.

The next sentence read as quoted, either way both cars should attempt to avoid a collision...
