The kids might not know cursive, but as long as they hold Freddie Mercury in high esteem, my hope for humanity remains.

Now .. I'm aware of Freddie's talent.. but son of a bitch I love Brian May's guitar playing so much

will music be this good ever again?

What's fucking wild is Brian May the guitarist, had such a unique sound because he used banjo strings. Another fun fact is that he has a PhD in astrophysics.

Also, he made that guitar out of an old fireplace.

My mum was just off to the side of the stage handing out radio mics. Still got Bowie's in our garage.

I really wish we could've seen what more he could've done with his talents. RIP

It's truly terrible how much Freddie suffered before the end, and his end came entirely too soon. He was denied a long life and us a gracefully aging star of the live stage. I doubt he would've still been touring as much as Brian and Roger have been in their old age but still banging out albums for sure. RIP Freddie, we will always miss you.

For the yougin's. Band Aide and live Aide were fund raisers for Ethiopia (famine/civil war). Raised $100mill, which the organizer (Bob Geldof) handed over to Pres. Mengistu of Ethiopia. He did this despite the advice of many NGOs who knew there was no infrastructure and vast corruption. Memgistu (a Marxist the Soviets loved), took the money and bought Soviet weapons to crush opposition. Est deaths during his rule 500k-2mill. 1991 He was overthrown and granted asylum in Zimbabwe. Hes still there

Just how effortless that volume of voice comes out from that man.

God I wish I was there.

Live Aid. One of the most influential events in my youth. Watched it live while visiting in England.

And the result: "...much of the relief funds intended for victims were in fact siphoned off to purchase arms from the Soviet Union"

Brian May mostly still plays a guitar he built when he was a teenager. Absolute legend.

I expected to be told that I was never going to be given up or let go. I was pleasantly surprised. Have a green arrow.

I think Spinal Tap must have done cover for this before all their drummers died.

How does one get 4k footage of a pre-4k time?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It is hard to compare but film has much higher resolution than 4K.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not true 4k, it's 4k upscaling and they de-interlaced the original footage (it says so at the beginning of the video). They did a pretty great job too, much clearer than the original footage.

That's pretty neato
