god, what a sweet kid

As the parent of a three year old, this is every day. "You're only sad because you're hungry sweety" "No I'm not!" "Then why are you sad?" "I don't know!"

Parents who help their kiddos learn to regulate their emotions. A+

2 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Bless this little baby. She's trying so hard to regulate. Her parents gave her the tools and she's using them.

What a charming little kid.

I need one of those trays for my husband (also known as The Spillage Maestro and The Carpet Crumb Wizard)

I'm 70 years old and Fraggle Rock music still makes me happy.

2 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

and a PB & J?

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm 40. It's Saturday morning, and frankly, Fraggle Rock and a PB&J would be enough to make me quite happy too.

Fraggles if they were remade today

Dance your cares away...

What I'm getting from this is she's willing to meet you half way, as long as you do your share.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What a sweetie 🥰. And what an a great Dad!

Fraggle rock while munchin PB&J sounds like happiness to me.

The smallest things can make you happy. And the smallest things can make you sad.

when i showed kids the concept of chip dust and mixing and cutting the chip dust to chip crack i was the favorite until it was their bdays and christmas

A lot of fabric and maybe a puppy would do it for me

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actively listening and responding in a respectful and gentle manner to her ❤️That's parenting gold.

Yep!

Ain't no better feeling than making your kid happy!

And it doesn't stop at childhood.

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I think it's pretty good to be able to articulate what you need.

Hell I know a bunch of adults that can't even do that

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm a whole grown adult and I'm still learning to accurately define my needs.

2 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

She's so expressive with her hands as well

2 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yes please, encourage the hell out of that.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep… or better: Si..

English translation from England

Self awareness, and especially emotional self awareness, is one of the greatest skills any human can ever learn.

I want gReEnLaNd..!

A lot of people go their whole lives never figuring that out

If you like Fraggle Rock, you should watch the music video for "Do It Anyway" by Ben Folds Five.

2 months ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Looks like "Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock" is the new series

2 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

yep, and it looks like it keeps the spirit of the old one

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lovely child. But even sweeter is how understanding and affirming her dad is. My mom despised crying and we'd be mocked and punished for it.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This little angel seems intelligent and self-aware but she'll be repeating those exact words into her 30's.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She's learning quick!!!!!

Honestly, a nice, soothing cartoon and some snacks sounds like a good day.

I can definitely recommend We Bare Bears. It’s a kids’ show but it’s so well done it can be enjoyed as an adult and is just super relaxing.

The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, same reasons.

Also, Animaniacs if it’s zany comedy you’re after. That show was specifically made so that some of the jokes only make sense to adults.

Surprisingly, SpongeBob episodes are a bit hit and miss, at least in the early seasons…

2 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Love early animaniacs, not so much the new stuff. Similarly, early SpongeBob is better

I think it’s cool that her dad is helping her learn to regulate her emotions

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not just regulate, but identify and articulate them, and work with him to come up with solutions.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's a wise soul in there. Also a somewhat tormented one..

Im still upset about the forced name change to the UK original name "Marathon" (yes, back in the early 90s). Ruined the joke about

"Why should you never enter a Marathon?"

....you'll get peanuts under your foreskin

fucking what now?

Assuming it’s a chocolate bar or something

Marathon bars, apparently.

Hunger is the part of H.A.L.T.

HALT (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired) is a counseling tool designed to help individuals, particularly in recovery, identify and manage four common, easily overlooked emotional and physical states that can trigger relapse or poor decision-making. 1/2

2 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Hungry (H): Avoid letting hunger trigger stress or poor decisions by eating balanced, regular meals.
Angry (A): Recognize feelings of anger and manage them through healthy coping mechanisms rather than destructive impulses.
Lonely (L): Combat feelings of isolation by connecting with support systems, friends, or safe people.
Tired (T): Prioritize rest and sleep, as fatigue can weaken willpower and impair judgment. 2/2

Very cool!

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So if I spent the first few decades of my life in a perpetual state of all 4 HALT conditions, I can forgive myself for the bad decisions I made during that time?

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You should forgive yourself regardless. We're not meant to keep living with constant guilt over our past actions.
