A junior hockey team from Saskatchewan got into a fatal accident where a transport crashed into their bus. 14 dead and I believe there were 15 injured with 3 in critical condition.

I wish I could write something heartfelt but all I can think is this fucking sucks and it's not fair they died so young with such promising futures. ): I can't even imagine what their families are going through right now

Tragic.

My friend was offered to play as their goalie but switched from Hockey to academia. Shit makes you think

A loss too grand for men with too many loved ones. The pain is enormous. But in that pain they find support and understanding. Rest well.

Nice of you to post this encouraging note. So tuff on they and family.

They have managed to raise 6 million for the victims and are sending out lots of councillors. It’s doesn’t bring them back but it might help

This is sad but I keep picturing that scene from Beatleguise with the football team.

Thoughts and prayers for all the families tonight... including the truck driver, his life is horrible now, and most likely forever

Oh dang. That's some high level misfortune there. Best of luck to the survivors.

Fucking life and death always making us confused. I never know what to feel. Just let everything channel as honestly as you can. Love always

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Quite possibly the worst sports related tragedy ever.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Russian had a plane crash the took the entire hokey team. That does not reduce this event in anyway.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My prayer to you!!

Chicago Blackhawks and Winnipeg Jets tonight. All had BRONCOS on their sweaters to honor the team.

I'm a dad all up in my feels now. To lose my daughter would be unbearable. The pain i feel just thinking about it kills part of my soul.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/humboldt-broncos-team-bus-crash-cause-1.4610147 gives a bit of info about the cause

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

sounds like the cause is a mix of tractor trailer driver's negligence, and an area prone to accidents

Down here in Indianapolis we played the Canadian anthem for our brothers at the Indy Fuel game, so sad.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It did not go unnoticed and definitely not unappreciated.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This happened close to my home time. Hockey is a very big deal in the area. This is unfathomably horrible.

I'm from Saskatchewan. Been crying all day. These are our kids. So devastating.

Regina boy here. I feel ya.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm from SK . I don't know anyone directly but I can't stop crying and feeling so helpless and so sad. What a devastating tragedy.

My friend from up north just told me about this. My heart goes out to your community. I'm so, so sorry.

Anyone know what age(s) junior hockey is? Were these like... high schoolers?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

These guys were 16-21.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They're generally between age 16 and 21, from what I remember. It's been a while since I played, tho.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

One of the articles I read said the team was ages 18 to 21

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They are usually between 16 to 19.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

yeah they were, confirmed dead, a 16 year old, ages 15 to 21 and the coach

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It has to be incredibly difficult to survive something like that so young too -- or ever, really. Rest well, guys.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So sad so young

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are collapsed, like a black hole. That's what it's like to lose a child, test sanity, marriage. Best wishes, hope they find peace.

8 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 1

This is a tragedy... not only a test for those involved, but for everyone. This could have easily been avoided. Poor kids :(

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It does indeed suck, everyone loses.

It’s a sad state of affairs in the US post Obama. We once had hoped and dreamed... but now all we get are empty thoughts and prayers.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and everyday I log on this site I see more people slamming Obama and often promoting/defending our cheeto in office. It's a disgrace.

Where?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Saskatchewan is in Canada, it's one of our provinces. I'm not sure what part it happened in though I'm not from that area

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Between Tisdale and Nipawin. 2 hrs northeast of saskatoon.

Logan Boulet who passed today signed his donor card. So he has saved at least 6 people according to the news.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That's horrible. I hope they figure out what caused the crash. I read an article saying the transport driver had been detained then released

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

From what I've read in the news here the truck is at fault. It ran through the intersection took out the front of the bus and basically

Sliced the bus open

I hope he gets jail time or some form of punishment drunk or not

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

People barrel down those prairie roads.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that person will go on the rest of their life knowing they ended the lives of over a dozen young individuals.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Vehicular manslaughter is a thing right? I’m not well verse but I agree, a punishment is necessary

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Why does this person need punishment? It was an accident. Don’t you think he’s also going through hell as well?
