I loved Dread, really enjoyed my playthroughs.
I've been playing Super Metroid regularly since it came out, and started speedrunning it about 8 years ago, still love doing it. The satisfaction of chaining rooms together will never get old.
Dread's speedrun looks great, but optimal boss fights rely too much on mashing for me to want to do it long term. 😬

I enjoyed Dread but stopped at 85% done in hard mode. They just upped the HP of everything so I got tired of that with basic stuff. Haha

I played it in mouse mode over the weekend in NYC. That was hard. I much prefer to play in normal control mode. It felt kinda Halo, and I think that’s a good thing! Can’t wait.

For me the appeal of being able to switch between the two for certain games is based off of my likelihood of getting carpal tunnel. A different position can really help alleviate the stress. Granted I feel like you might need to snap on an accessory too the controller for it to stand properly to use as a mouse.

Exactly. I grew up on the first PC shooters, and only briefly played them with a controller. Hated it and assumed I'd be using Nintendo's bizarre lock-on feature for Metroid 4. BUT MOUSE!!!

I think it will make sense for strategy games (C&C or Civ styles) and some RPG games. There’s certain games that I just prefer on pc because the mouse makes more sense… Shooters are not one of those.

I'm just thinking, who sits at a desk when playing on a switch. In handheld mode, that's it's whole point, handheld.
When docked, I'd want to be sitting back on the couch.
I do understand for games like civ at least

I imagine it may be more for testing the concept than anything. We are rapidly approaching the point where handheld systems actively compete with low-mid grade computers when it comes to playing games, and Nintendo tends to have long vision.
That, and they absolutely love trying weird shit :P
