Wife’s pet raccoon tax. I live in Tennessee….

#24 No. Instead, on threat of death, I make one of *them* push it themselves.

#34 Let it take out the politicians. I'l personally go over and curb stomp the billionaire. Live stream it as a warning to others as well.

#13 ooohhh noo fuck that. Inflation is fucking terrible. I mean, yeah, food delivery is a big surcharge, but don't fucking avocado toast me about corporate greed today

#42 sometimes bees have to buzz off irrational thinking and intolerance, when too many flies block the honey

#22 - It won't last. Goatse guy taught us that same lesson, so Rick rolling should never have been so effective.

But it was, partly because people forgot and started getting careless again, but also because there's an entire generation that never got goatse'd.

#34 much better version of the Trolley Problem. Other one has a logic element to it of, "well, yeah, I sacrifice one to save five".

#28 If you're being kind because you want people to be grateful, maybe you're just *acting* kind.

The people who most need kindness don't have a lot of spare energy to demonstrate gratitude.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I don't expect to be showered with praise. Or hell even directly thanked. I just expect to not be later have my efforts thrown back in my face as not good enough.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm fairly sure it wasn't about people who don't say thank you and/or are troubled, but rather about people who actively keep being rude, betraying you, etc. despite your kindness.

I am kind and am out of energy

I kinda have a pet raccoon. We both seem to have the midnight munchies at the same time. I'm going to my fridge for snacks, and he's come through the dog door and has broken into the dog's food for snacks.

Exactly!!

Dammit, you beat me to it.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

If we can't do that, then the billionaire funding them. cut the problem at the source, and the politicians will suffer too

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

No, no, the politicians, it's easier for you to kill one guy than four, soon as you're done with the first the other three have had a head start...

#34 Absolutely pull it. Always treat the source rather than the symptom when possible. Unless you’ve got sick multi-track drifting skills in which case it’s not even a choice anymore

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There's a whole pile of politicians and one billionaire. Therefore, hit the politicians with the trolley and strangle the billionaire. Work smart, not hard.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Let the trolly hit the politicians.

Leave the billionaire tied to the tracks, uncertain if another trolly will come. Or if he will be eaten by the wildlife. Of if he will starve to death. Or if you will return shortly and take mercy... of one sort or another. or just watch him suffer.

And using Depp for the backdrop of #9 is... a choice.

I must have missed that about him. What a tool. Hiding behind all that charm and easy goingness. How come people do this shit to other people???

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Did you read it in his voice?

I did

#4 On the one hand, I feel this, because I'm pretty sure my recent divorce is entirely about their issues, not mine. But on the other hand, I feel like that's being dismissive of other people's issues in a way that other memes here would disapprove of. But on the gripping hand, she's a bit of a crazy bitch.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think the difference here is if the person realizes they have issues and tries to work on it, they could be forgiven. But if they're not even trying to work on their issues and are sabotaging themselves, don't let them take you down with them.

#3 at any given point in my life, the only thing worse than whatever I'm internally struggling with, would be feeling obligated to talk to someone about it.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

You can still express things with out directly talking about it. Creative pursuits are particularly good at this. Art, music, crafts, writings etc. The goal isn't to be good at it, but to move the emotions outside of yourself by expressing them. Even just consuming music/art etc can do this. Angry? Listen to metal and scream. Sad? Listen to sad music and cry. Disgust? Paint something ugly on purpose.

Reaching out doesn't have to be talking about problems if you don't want to. You could go axe-throwing with your buddies, blow off some steam, build a fire in the back yard, have a beer, listen to the fire crackling. There are many ways to restate your humanity.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That's your fear talking. You have been taught that they'd rather have you not there than letting you show yourself. Bottling it all up was a survival mechanism, because you did not have any other options. But once you're an adult, you DO have options. Learning how to cope with what happened to you can only be done by talking about it with other people. And learning to trust other people only can be done by starting to talk with them about yourself. Undo what was done to you. >

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And this is from my own experience, mind you. This is not some psychobabble, this is what I lived through myself. And I came out on the other side and am mostly healed, not more damaged than other people who have gone through life a lot easier.
Be brave for yourself. Showing yourself is scary as fuck but you get to be you, you get to heal, you get to be with people who appreciate who you truly are.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you. It's not the path I choose for myself at the present time but I appreciate you telling your story.

I would also put forth: Ye Banished Privateers, Rumahoy if you're into something that would even make Alestorm look serious, Running Wild for more classic metal. I'm sure there's plenty more, but I just woke up.
