2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

#11 Not an insult.

Is homophobia funny now? #48

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 7

I don't think it's homophobic. I am however happy to be corrected. I think he simply is making the joke that it truly sucked. It would only be bearable if one had the opportunity to pursue romance.

#49 I loved the death star part in Star Wars Rogue Squadron. Full speed and pretend to have jedi-like reaction times. :D

Ea nasir jokes are like good copper, not everyone gets it

2 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

I cannot tell you how much I love Ea-nasir memes

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Same here. They're at the same time monuments to humanity's greatness and acknowledgement that we are basically the same rat bastards we were four millenia ago. And that's breathtaking, if you think about it.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

You're breathtaking

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

crossing billiard balls thing isn't *quite* as hard as it looks. The pins are already firing in sequence from the start. You just have to wait for the right place in the sequence to drop the next in.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

The word “just” is doing some pretty heavy lifting there. I was thinking I could play with that machine for weeks before getting it once.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe in you. I bet you could get the timing down within 15 minutes.

#27 I would like to purchase the antique coffee mug, please

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#11 It sounds like an insult but the way I understand it is :
I dont know half of you as much as I would like and I like you not as much as you deserves

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 ok so this is a rape joke. just so we are very clear about what we are spreading here.

2 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 11

Yeah, that shits not funny. I appreciate you calling it out.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

Maybe it could be reworded to be less rapey (and instead, just unenjoyable)? Like, "My German girlfriend likes to rate our sexual experiences. Last night she suggested we try anal. Afterward I asked if she liked it and she gave it a 9."

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I asked my German girlfriend if she knew the square root of 81. She said she did not.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

No, still not funny.

#17 A platypus? Perry the Platypus??

I was trying to make an Indiana Jones connection. This makes much more sense.

From Phineas ans Ferb. If you don’t know that TV show, go watch it now! It’s glorious and full of memorable moments. It consists of a main plot and a subplot which constantly interweave. Perry the Platypus is part of the subplot.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 3

Coming from a remote island and seeing Phineas and Ferb on late night TV overseas for the first time? was a real wtf am i watching moment for me lol .. another one that got me on another visit was Cow and Chicken .. absolute insanity, loved it.

#9 Aluminium is one of the lightest metals, though. Osmium is where it's at.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

But it is heavy aluminum

Not transparent aluminium?

Thorium made their debut playing Radioactive covers

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Is #11 really an insult? Once you cancel out all the negatives. Hes saying: i wish i'd known and appreciated you all more.

2 years ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

Ok, y’all half convinced me that it’s a deliberately confusing compliment.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's 100% a compliment. He's saying that half of them he wishes he knew better than he does, and then also some of them deserve to be liked and he wishes he had more time to have given them that liking that they deserve. You could argue that this means there are others whom he doesn't know and doesn't care to, and others who he does know and doesn't like. But given Bilbo's character, I feel a more accurate interpretation is that the unmentioned group are those that he does know, and does like.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

If we take it in context, he has just had a wonderful night with all his friends and family, celebrating his birthday. He is planning on leaving forever and he is trying to wish everyone goodbye. He kind of embellishes what he is saying but the sentiment is that he is happy to know all these people and knows these are some that he wishes he knew better.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

it's a praise, in the same sense of "you're underrated"

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Isn’t Bilbo saying “half of you I barely know and wish I didn’t know you at all, and a few of you I outright dislike more than you deserve“? That’s pretty insulting, if you take the time to parse it!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I took the time to parse it. For some of them, he does not know them as much as he would like to know them, he would like to know more. For a few, he likes them but they deserve to be liked even more.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#44 this looks more impressive then it is since the machine is calibrated to have the balls go at the right time.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it’s like being impressed with a person’s talent when they turn a car key and the engine spins correctly.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anyone who's built up an old car from a POS to a reliable daily driver WOULD be impressed in that case.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can someone explain #1 for my friend? She’s special, and doesn’t understand.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nine means no in German.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's a rape joke.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Thank you. My friend looked up what it meant in German. She understands now.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Watched the Razer clip twice and fractured everyone in my body.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why are there so many people in your body

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Multiple personalities?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I tried really hard not to laugh at #1. In the end I just couldn't help it.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 8

why do you think it's funny?

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I believe in German schools the rating is reversed, so 1 is the highest you get. The guy did terrible in every interpretation..

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Nah, nien is No in German

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

nein btw

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, thanks

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rating isn't reversed, just schools use 1 as best grade and 6 is worst.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#38 is that Maisie Williams?

2 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 0

Looks like it and she should get her boots of the seat.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

"Boots of the seat", is that a title like "hand of the king" or more a signifier of an office, like the weird wigs some European judges wear?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, you can see Salsa's reflection on the window.

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 9

Butt, butt , butt.......

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I think you meant #11, I came down here to say the same thing.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

? 9 in German? Spelled 'nein', mean no.

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Actually, the English way of saying "nine" means "no" in German, the German way of saying 9 sounds like "noin" to the English and means "9".

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

They completely agree with you, they just stated what that meant in a weird way

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The joke is in English, yea? So the girl in the joke was saying no in German, correct? She wasn't saying that sex was 'noin', she was saying 'nein, I don't like that'

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

"? 9 in German? Spelled 'nein'," - 9 is spelled noin in German

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

Native Speaker here. The German word for no is Nein. This Nein is pronounced like the English word for the number Nine. The number nine on the other hand is called Neun in German.
