I just pick up the phone and listen for that sweet, soothing internet connection sound.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a man with the slowest internet in all of Ireland, I can still relate to this

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

above 10 isnt old

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So, being 14, does that mean I'm part of the older people?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh wow that's something I did on ..... LIMEWIRE! I'd leave the cursor tho right in the bar to see if it loads haha nice ????

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember when cataclysm came out for wow and I had to leave my computer on over night and during school the next day to download

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Great now I know I'm old

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought I was the only one who did this!!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am doing this right now, and have been most of the day, damn.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To this day I find myself closing my eyes with expectations that when I open them the progress bar will be longer. Can't witness it move!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Older people will know." Like there still aren't loading bars with everything you download/install? An eight year old knows this.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

OP is referring to the length of time that loading bars took to move. Not loading bars them selves.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

OP is 13 and wants to feel cool

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was just going to say the same.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Welcome to Australia, where the download speed is low and the temperature is kind of high

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And where the government is intent on creating 500,000 (when you consider the peripheral jobs associated) unemployed, because it won't 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

back the Australian car industry. But hey, you'll get UFB sometime in the next 50-odd years. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

436 years remaining.

Once I was updating a game and my wifi went to hell and I had 3.6 years remaining

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahh dial up..

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

i recently tried to download Deus Ex from steam... 600 bytes per second was what it peaked at... gotta love living on a farm...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I also live on a farm in a very rural area... Wireless internet sucks.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On steam whenever payday 2 has an update, any other game would download and install quickly,it takes for fucking ever.

9 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

It took 9 minutes for it to download the update that only added 2 new difficulties

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

My download speed is pretty good,it took about 3 hours to download and install,I just dont get it,every other game is fine.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Idk payday needed about 30min for the update (like every other game for that size) and then it needed another 15min after it was "done"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

every time i feel brave enough to finish GTA V i start up steam which updates for an hour, then the game updates for a few more.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Steam is pretty bad at making updates to very big files. Basically copies it, then writes which depends on your HDD speed 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It also takes a lot of space on the HDD. Payday isn't the only game with this steam problem, Path of Exile has it too for example

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its them, their servers cant handle the stress, and whatever they do to compress the files is super inefficient.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Its not the servers, its both the file compression and file obfsucation. They obfuscate all the game files, compress that and then 1/?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They obfuscate the compressed files, which has a consequence, they cant do updates by diffin files and they have to load all the 2/?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Obfuscated And compressed files for that specific part of the game(they separate the files per game part) that makes required to ?/?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Decompress all the files required for that part. While its good(it compresses a lot) it Also hás these side effects. Updates take longer ?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If their servers are fine, then why are the downloads 20 times slower during events/day of patches?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Use the mouse cursor, it shows it far better.

9 years ago | Likes 554 Dislikes 1

I get paranoid that I accidentally jiggled the mouse and it moved ahead.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A true pro there!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah but sometimes it's hard to position it right on the edge of the loading bar. Maybe I'm just a bit spastic

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

And thats why you dont have high sens and dpi like a scrublord2k13.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Me too

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used a post-it
