Re: MMA - martial arts training can be a healthy outlet with good exercise, camaraderie, and mental discipline. I did Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for a year and it was a very positive experience mental health-wise. Unless you’re competing in it, one of these things is not like the other.

An event I was in charge of planning for work for like the past 4 months finally happened this week and was a complete success. Several coworkers didn’t think what I planned would work and kept trying to backseat drive and get me to change things, and now I have irrefutable proof that I knew what I was doing and they can go fuck themselves.

I was running in a half marathon a few years ago now, and I was exhausted and had been in my head about being a fat old broken impostor in the throngs of real runners and saw someone holding this sign. I cried happy tears for the next half mile. Sometimes you just need a cheerleader :)

I usually don’t. But I we were told that bigwigs were gonna come and make sure everything was done. So made sure everything was done. Worst part is, bigwigs never came.

Congrats!! That’s a big deal. I got promoted recently too, and I can’t really celebrate it too much because most of my friends are coworkers, and I don’t want to feel like I’m rubbing it in. But I’m quite proud of myself.
