I just had the best weekend of my life, and I'm dying to tell the story! Please bear with me.

I've been a fan of Weird Al for as long as I can remember. After watching his episode of 'Behind the Music', I told everyone that I was going to marry him one day. (After he found a wife, I reluctantly let that dream go :) ). Truly some of the shittiest moments of my life were more tolerable because I was able to laugh through them with his music.

After a few years of personal hell, I found someone who is equally as goofy and adventurous as me (who also loves Weird Al). My SO and I bought VIP tickets to his show on Friday, which meant both of us would get to meet the weirdo himself after the concert.

We each made a shirt for the occasion. Mine- "this guy is weird"
His- "Raging AL- Coholic" (we're cheesy, I admit it)

After his fantastic performance, we were last in a long line to meet him. For some reason, my SO was very slow making his way back stage. We had fun taking pictures with various Star Wars characters in line, while I secretly tried to think of something monumental to say when I met my idol, Mr. Yankovic. The second I finally saw him as the line became shorter, I felt tears welling up that I couldn't hold back. I was genuinely that excited and starstruck.

When it was finally our turn, I blurted out my well-thought-out statement: "HOLY POOP, IT'S YOU!!" and began crying even harder. Al immediately hopped up and gave me a hug.

After I calmed down, he said, "all right, I have a personal question to ask you, sort of a favor... Will you marry this guy?"

I turned around to see my SO wearing a new shirt (see pic) on one knee. I said yes, and Al was genuinely so kind and excited for us.

We both thanked him for the happiness he has brought us through the years and for taking the time to help my SO propose.

If I was better at thinking on my feet, I would have requested his services as a wedding singer :)

Weird Al is a genuinely sweet guy who took time out of his day to make my life better. I'm so lucky to have a fiance who not only accepts my quirks but embraces them.

TL;DR Weird Al proposed to me. I said yes.

I always upvote Weird Al.

I was the only one in my area who listened. 5th grade, everyone else listened to country. I hate misery.

I think Al is one of the few celebrities I've never, ever heard a negative story about. Always kind and fun to be around.

I think by the matching t-shirt, meeting Weird Al stage of the relationship it was a foregone conclusion.
