Team Rocket's Meowth is the therapist. After all he learned to speak human, he'd be able to get others to do so too.

Hodor probably has Broca's Aphasia.

A walking carpet

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That likes to strangle storm troopers

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And throw them at a wall

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But Chewie doesn't have a speech issue, he just speaks another language. =|

IIRC in old EU canon he had an actual speech impediment as well.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

According to the US thats the definition for a speech issue

The case could be made. I've always wondered if the reason he only speaks Wookie is that he can't pronounce Common. He does understand it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

*Basic. Btw. In non-canon Heir to the Empire there is a wookie that speaks understandable basic.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And he can actually speak basic because he has an impediment I believe. IIRC his Shyyriwook is not 100% correct because of it.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Well there is also the fact that he is one of the last wookies. I would make everyone listen to my language as long as I could also.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where did you get that info from? The Empire enslaved them, they didn't kill them off.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We need only see the christmas special to learn why he's one of the last

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hodor does not have a speech impediment, he has a laser minded focus on his destiny.

"The Door" hit me harder than "The Rains of Castamere".

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Right in the feels eh?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish I hadn't had THE ENTIRE INTERNET spoiling that one for me because I had to wait a week to see it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"It's not a spoiler" says everyone who was making oblique references to Hodor holding a door and everyone else saying it was a sad episode.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As far as that goes, Chewbacca only has a speech impediment in Basic - he speaks perfectly fluent Shryiiwook.

9 years ago | Likes 157 Dislikes 0

Neither does Groot

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Groot's speech is fine for his species. Because of his rigid vocal cords and complex language, we perceive everything he says as I am groot.

9 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 1

Really they're all fine, we just see them as different and needing fixing.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I did not intend for this to be serious, I make mistake.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's okay.
