Weld done

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

LOL #2 is robot welds. #1 and #3 took some real steady-hands skill by a human, though. Good work!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Robot my ass but thanks

Those are too beautiful for words. I'm a mechanic and hot rod enthusiast, but I regretfully never learned to weld. Just damn man. Pretty.

Thanks

The ridges bother me.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And why is that?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I...I don't know. But my body yearns to smooth the ridges out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that's why you're a grinder, not a welder.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’m calling bullshit on this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are the most beautiful welds I've ever seen. I think you should definitely create some HQ gifs showing you moving the pool around.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Welding I know, gifs not so much.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you or a friend video it & upload to YouTube, Imgur will help you convert the video to a gif

Oh wow, THANK YOU

Son of a bitch stole my line.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Are they really your handy work? That's impressive. That TIG?

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Yep. Aluminum might welds look like a barrel of ass compared to tig.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

What is a "might weld"?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

mig ...spelling mistake I guess

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah my phone isn't as familiar with mig as it is with might.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

MIG Stands for Metal Inert Gas

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remember, if you've gotta grind down you welds, you're a grinder not a welder

9 years ago | Likes 212 Dislikes 9

YOU'RE A GRINDER, DAN!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't

Makita cap!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a painter and I spend plenty of time grinding welds

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Spoken like a true welder... wait... are you even a welder

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good luck doing a reliable ultrasonic examination on welds that are not flat.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or if you do auto body welding.

Awww man, I suck then...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

unless the design detail wants something blended... depends on the industry and the product.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

As someone that knows almost nothing about welding, I thought that was a common part of the process

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

It is...Alot of times it's minor grinding and some polishing. These welds are legit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is. My dad gave me shit when I was younger learning to weld. Id make huge mistakes and grind them away.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

"Grinder and paint make me the welder I ain't "

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Its not. Grinding is used to prep the material BEFORE welding. Not after. The task is usually hired out to general labourers. Not the welder.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Well depends on what is welded for what reason. Sometimes you don't want to have the seam no matter how perfectly welded and then you grind

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

it is, it's just a stupid saying.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 5

Are these yours? If so I have a question.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Ok shoot?

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Was the last weld stainless?

How'd you get your torch around the aluminum? there's like ZERO fucking space between them

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

use a proper gas diffusing cup and you can extend reach into tight spaces by exposing more tungsten

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Extend the tungsten a little and practice practice practice.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Extend tungsten and maybe turn gas up a little would have been my go to but it's hard for me to find a flaw. Well done.
