My C96 Broomhandle. 7.63×25mm (aka .30 cal Mauser). Commercial made sometime in the 1920's. Non-matching serial numbers and repro grips, but I don't care, it's mine and I love it.

Bought the repro 1930 year manual, some original clips and live ammo.

My Chinese gun purse. The leather tabs pull the loaded clips up and out of the pouches! I love this holster.

I have one in 9x19mm, gun itself is matching numbers but the stock piece is not.

Firearms = automatic upvote. Old Mausers have a certain "cool" factor to them that I love.

I hope you can feel the envy coming off of me right now. +1

Mauser gang! I have a bolt mismatch G33/40 and It's the apple of my eye

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Beautiful. Does it have the stock mount on the back of the handle?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Hide that from the democrats

@Spike762x39 i found you on imgur, nice. I'm a big fan of your gun page on facebook and its nice to see you are an imgurian as well.

My man!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where did you get such a beautiful gun?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Dead Germans. Well, a living German could sell it but that’s just more paperwork.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Non-matching is nicer. Now you can use it without worrying about value.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for not hacking it up be make a Han Solo blaster

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Whatcha want for it?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, the choice of an avid gun collector! It's a nice gun, Stranger!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still probably illegal in California

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's a really pretty gun

Proper use of "clips", proud of you.

Walther P38, C96 Mauser, or Luger P08. CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've got a p38 with matching serial numbers and the eagle still intact with original holster. Fully functional, it's quite the item.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

P38 is compact but efficient. P08 is better if you can clear it's mechanism. C96 Mauser depends on if you can handle it's weight

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not that I could afford any of them right now, but that's a surprisingly difficult decision.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love this pistol. I’ve always wanted one with the optional shoulder stock.

6 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 1

I found the stock for sale once but the guy wanted waaaay more than I could afford at the time.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right! They're damn beautiful and I would love to get my hands on one.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

ive always wanted one of the beautiful carbine ones with the longer barrel and fixed stock. sadly they are quite rare.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That you, Eva?

Sick Red 9.

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 9

That's clearly a DL44!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dont think that's a Red 9. Aren't the Red 9 9x19 with the big red 9 on the handle?

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Red9 = 9mm version of a Mauser (and popularized, at least in my life, by Resident Evil 4) -- this is an original C96 firing 7.63x25 Mauser.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WTF? Clearly has no red 9, and OP VERY clearly states it's 7.63x25...

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but resident evil 4 does not make that distinction.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Here we will see who are into guns and who are into games.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

I'm both in to games and watch Forgotten Weapons.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i love it, matching or not. hell if a reputable company built a repro today i'd want one.

6 years ago | Likes 272 Dislikes 1

Do you really have that many 00 agents to deal with?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Repros of this would be amazing!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same, I'd love to own one of these. Even if it was a reproduction.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Exactly! There are a lot of companies making great repros of "wild west" guns, but it would be awesome if the same was true for early 20th

6 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 0

century military weapons

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

You'll never see a C96 repro. Companies have priced it out in the past, and a small run would cost over $4k a piece. A larger run would be2

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Cheaper but there's not enough interest to justify the massive investment required.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I beg. The fuck. To differ.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sorry, but if the interest was there we would have seen a small but expensive run already, but we haven't and won't. Why buy a repro for1

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

$4,000 when real ones are $1000-$3000 depending on the model. Makes no sense at all.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go full Indiana Jones on their ass.

On the third movie riders of the lost ark the Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword used these mausers, no-one else

No you have to get yourself a Webley.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Webley's in Last Ctusade, but I agree just because they're cool pistols.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hah, it was supposed to say, “Now you have to get yourself a Webley.” Curse these sausage fingers.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah, fair enough, no worries!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh that's beautiful. I'd love to have one myself someday. That or a luger P08 are my collection goals to compliment my P38

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My dream gun is the "Trench Gun" Winchester shotgun, but upon looking around for it, I've only seen sell prices in the several-thousands..

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can still do either one for about $800,but it looks like things are turning towards a jump in all the prices of world war 1 era stuff.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's unfortunate but makes sense.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you narrow down to a couple models, and keep a standing gun broker search, you can get something like that or a webley under $600.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think the general bargain military surplus market is a thing any more, but right now is the golden age of cheap quality 1990s cop

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Forgive me, but as long as it would still shoot, I'd have to set it up like Solo's blaster....

6 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 4

Honestly some of the busted ones go cheaper then the japanese replicas and its been really tempting.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you have access to a C96, keep it a C96. Solo's DL-44 is available in both nonfunctional replicas and full-metal Airsoft/BB versions

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

-- whereas a real-life C96 deserves more preservation than being turned into a sci-fi prop lol

Whaa?! this is the most perfect thing I have ever seen in my life - Thank you.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I was waiting for someone to drop the Solo comment.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

- and incur the ire of every gun collector. Solo blaster conversions actually crashed original C96 numbers. Lots of beautiful guns lost.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Wait, I would have imagined nobody is dumb enough to use an original for that? Like some cheap reproduction maybe.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Nobody makes a repro C96, and even if they did it would be far from cheap. An original would be less expensive than a remake.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Movie used originals so for prop collectors original gun conversions are the only one that hold value.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You're a monster.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing is sacred! In truth I'd be happier with a Chinese .45 ACP, arguably just as historic and a better chassis for a "heavy blaster".

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm just glad you didn't say Astra 900.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing is sacred, I'd mod the Astra too as long as still fired. Replace the scope guts w/laser sight. Pretty sure you do the mod w/out >

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Permanently altering, drilling tapping etc. Urethane tipped set screws.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Finally don't have to cringe at someone's use of the term clips! Nice iron!

6 years ago | Likes 194 Dislikes 9

You are correct on the distinction. However, in a living language this is how it changes. Eventually, clip will be the term for both

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I recall someone giving me a hard time when I said I found some clips for my rifl. Bitch I own an M1, it's the source of the misuse.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

bUt ItS a mAGazInE!

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 13

It's only a clip it's above ground, otherwise it's called magma

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah, Enfields also use Stripper Clips so we get to say it too. :P

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

There's also few clip fed machine guns, most notably Japanese type 11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qD9NmhMF8o

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hear the words “stripper clip” the way Tina Belchers heard “bumper to bumper.” It sexually excites me. I will not apologize.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Many rifles use stripper or enbloc clips.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Magazine Master Race.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

other than the Garand, what rifles used enblocs?

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

*sad Berthier, Gewehr 1888, and Carcano noises*

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They are often called Mannlicher clips bc they were used (invented for) by the Mannlicher riffle. Also the Gewehr 88 and others

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

that I don't remember off the top of my head.
