USB Mini fan & Clock

I've gone through 3 of those. They overheat in minutes & do not last.

The fan is strong but the lights are annoying so I burnt the wire for the lights.

Need!!!!

Stick your dick in it!

Hey mister clockfan, blow me some time. Make it the windiest time that I've ever checked.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But can it run Doom?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have that same exact fan. It's neat but it also rattles really loudly due to the lack of stability with the flexible arm. I never use it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My cat would love to destroy that. Like everything else in my life.

Ah yes, no comments, no favourites, first post, and it's some shitty "product". Spam. Report, downvote. The spam link will come soon enough.

1990s BrookStone called, they want their clock back.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the kind of stuff we need to stop making. Pointless waste of resources. Completely unnecessary waster of electricity... I want one.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Should be 4:20 when you turn it on

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nothing is better than a USB mini missle launcher!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"What time is it?" "I dunno, turn on my fan." "...what?"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

2008 called...

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Would this completely break once the motor gets worn and the fan doesn't spin at that exact speed anymore?

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It would be easy enough to program a calibration to correct for that, but yes, it would get wonky over time without adjustment.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fan blade will chip and become imbalanced before the motor goes.

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's not already by placing lights only on one side?

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No two motors are ever exactly the same speed, usually these sorts of things have a hall sensor in to signal a full revolution.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

These fucking things may or may not melt the fuck out of your USB port if you don't monitor them

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's ... Ehh .... Advice? "May or may not"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Melted the heck out of mine. On my gaming PC...

Where to get

5 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 5

From the looks of it. They made it their selvs

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I found it on Amazon by Googling "usb mini clock fan"

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

“Small USB Fan with Cool Message Display” https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LS02JOU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_KTKX96TFAAC1EDX0J3GM

.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even cheaper https://www.ebay.com/itm/172575778577

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

That doesn't have a clock, just a couple predefined messages like "I love you" and "I miss you." Doesn't seem to be programmable.

fuck yeah

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had one of these a decade ago. It gets only power from USB. You set the time (each time) with a single button in an almost impossible way.

5 years ago | Likes 229 Dislikes 0

Just put it in at 12:00

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The button is also on the blade and you can only set it while it's moving...

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I am speed

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some USB ports are powered on when computer is off for charging purpose. Try different ports?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a similar clock that was a LED wand. Was shit at tracking time. Like 15min drift every week

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have this same one. It retains the time though.. But now I'm not quite sure how. Trickle power through USB even though the pc is off?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But does it also retain time when unplugged? (Some USB ports remain powerd when you PC is off. a.o. so you can power it on using keyboard)

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably not. I don't use it much because it makes an annoying rattling sound when it's on

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wife got me one a few years ago. It was neat but quit working after 4 months.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Mine lasted about a week

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They should introduce some kind of a connection to a computer which could then provide the time. Maybe some kind of a serial bus.

5 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 1

well, its a "gimmick". There is EASIER ways to get a gizmo to show A CLOCK

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. Then go to www.usbthings.cn and download fanclock.exe

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Best make it universal too, so it can help with the many other things you could connect to your computer.

5 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Better throw in a rectangle connector witch never fits on first try while they're at it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But lets not use USB name or pin order. Just reverse polarity.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

?

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Brutal. You’d think a little battery could be put in there to keep the clock..

5 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 0

Or just get time from the computer through USB

5 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

Well i think a USB connection itself is in a different computational league, than whatever chip is in there

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

It requires a driver. but the bus is 'Universal' so this definitly is possible.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well the bus is, but there are a LOT of steps to take if you wanna transmit data, i don’t know how much of the computing the mcu has to do

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is possible, but much more expensive.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

weeeell. I mean technically it's not that expensive to add a USB serial module, but that would require drivers, and eh.
