Uppercase means it's a major chord. Lowercase is a minor chord. So if the chord is "G", IV is G major & iv is G minor.

Okay gotcha. All those progressions are is how far away from the tonic/root you go in a scale to play a chord. I'll use C for an example

To play "iv" you'd do the same thing but instead of F major, play F minor. "ivo" would be diminished and so forth. Once your learn all your

So C has no sharps, no flats. It's easy. So to play "IV", count 4 notes away (F) in the scale and play that major chord since IV is capital

Scales it's the same principal. Keep in mind C is easiest key signature to play since it doesn't have sharps or flats. Start with it.

That's the most common one but any arrangement of them works as long as you start with I. I-vi-IV-V was popular in early rock.

In major, absolutely. In minor though iv is normally minor and VI is normally major. So if you stick to the formula in minor that's what 1/2
