The fact they're putting up no meaningful resistance to the unlawful orders while Trumps goons gut them of 'DEI' from within says that we shouldn't expect the military to meaningfully oppose those orders.

What resistance should they put up? So far there is nothing illegal going on as much as people may dislike it. There are always changes in the military when a new administration comes in, some are liked and some not.
However declaring martial law within the US and using the military against its own people when there is no immediate threat ( much like Trump wants to convince everybody there is) is way beyond the line and the military needs to decide if that is legal.
