My dream car

Was my first car. Bought in in 1996 in highschool. Everyone fucking loved that car, drive it until 2003 when it died. Paid $2000

I don't think people back then realized just how fast this car moved.

Drool. Kicking myself for not buying one

Me too. Although I was three when these were released.

These pictures are of a GNX that has only 202 miles on the odometer and is being auctioned; current bid is $150k.

One day my unobtainable friend...I will build a clone, and proceed to track the wheels off it.

Wife hates them... But this is on my list.

1/4 mile in less than 14 sec. nice!

I only have a GN, but it doesn't take much at all to get into the 11s without much work. My car will do a 12s 1/4 right now.

With a little tuning and better exhaust they ran 13s all day. Used to streetrace against them in my Roadrunner. Good old days, no cellphones

This was the one on Lenos show right? So cool.

Yup. Probably the best example of one in the world.

I remember a review in the Car and Driver magazine (I think, totally going by memory), where they called the GNX a car Darth Vader would own

Fucking love the 80s man

Reminds me of a Buick Regal I had from the late 80’s

I too had an 86 presidential. She was a beast.

My bro had a Regal we swapped a 455 olds rocket into. It was stupid but glorious.

The GNX is just the top trim of the Grand National which is just a high performance version of the Regal. That's why.

The GNX was a limited production vehicle.

You could get it in any color you wanted as long as you wanted black.

What about white?

Gorgeous car and very powerful, but they handled like shit. Most of them ended up wrapped around a tree.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Likely due to drivers that couldn’t handle them.

I’m really into this body style now for some reason.

Chevy G bodies have a cult following for good reason.

Look at the wildly efficient packaging! You can get at least two people in that thing.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a 2+2 thank you very much!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3 in the back seat and two up front. You could even squeeze 3 up front if need be.

Im from Belgium, these cars never really got there, so I was utterly unaware of this car until recently. It's on my must own one day list 1/

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It is very... rectangular

Everything was in the 80s

Thankfully, we have evolved over the past 40 years.

Also I see elements of the 2nd and 3rd gen camaro in the design, were buick and chevy already under the same parent company back then?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Buick,Chevy & Pontiac are all GM companies (General Motors.)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah I know that's the case now, I was just curious how long it had been the case
