OMG some of these videos are terrible. lol
ignotoCiResto
ah the 2000
when the music video had enough bass to destroy an house and were violent, sexy or both
When you could watch berserk on MTV at midnight. Fuck let's say it: when MTV was great and not the shit fake cringe show of today
When you could have fun for a whole damn afternoon at the arcade with just ten euro. Because instead of being p2w the arcade games were hard AF and you either learned to play like a god or didnt last a minute with each coin
When we still werent a mass of emotional scars
sweateryams
#1 I used to record videos off mtv to rewatch when I wanted to this Shakira video was one of them.
eselsaft
We really got to live through the last great age of humanity. At least there's that.
GerbilHereReportingLiveFromRichardGeresAss
How does Shakira both know and doesn't know how to dance?
Redshadow09
God early 2000s minus the sad part of 2001 it felt pure and natural
veronicablood
Every track on that Kosheen record was an absolute banger
xenjamin
Omg I hate that song breathless with a passion. I don't say that about too many songs.

#3 Everytime I get some of that Oregon sunshine (rain) I sing this song. My wife, my son, my co-workers are sick of my shit.
They just don't feel what I'm feeling. No one else can feel it for me. Only I can let it in. No one else, no one else
LuvinTheBebehKitties
#4 Coyote Ugly (good movie, too)

#5 Did you ever hear a song that you instantly recognize, but cannot consciously remember having actually heard it?

ToonMan4351
This was right around the time I decided music started to suck and I only wanted to live in the 90’s forever.

RidiculouslyIncompetent
My back hurts while I'm listening to this.
Had a great time hearing these in the radio at the local lake back then.
TheFastpaws
Look I already don't plan to be around the end of the month. Stop trying to put me in a few weeks early.

#3 Hide U is a good song from the same Kosheen album.
kirmokum
breakbeat era (roni size, die, and leonie laws), ror-shak, and london elektricity were similar drum'n'bass pop acts around the same time.

#1 her hips do not lie, or so I hear.
meme2theextreme
And she ages like a fine wine. Last year at the Grammys. 48 years old
meme2theextreme
From her first album in 1991
Mockingbirb
Wait... she was 14 back then, right? Baby Shakira
meme2theextreme
13 actually, when she released her first album.

I've never heard any of these songs before. I don't think I've even heard them by accident in a department store at the time.
Kargathia
Unwritten was all but played on a loop by the local radio stations when I was a teenager working a supermarket job. After a while that chorus jingle felt like a rusty bandsaw playing polka on my last nerve.
psugab
How? They are in music and TV, on the radio for years, just everywhere.
mirrorz
I'm not everywhere. I still listen to mostly metal on an old ipod, I worked in solitude, I normally only watch PBS news & nature shows if I watch TV at all, and the places I frequently go to don't play this type of music. It's not that difficult. I do remember when Leann Rimes released that song "Blue" as a kid because my dad ONLY listened to country music. That's was the the last song of hers I heard. I'm also older than she is.
neithermenoryou
They were mostly aimed at teenagers in the 2000's, and had a lot of presence in all sorts of media at the time. I assume you were already older atthat point so you have had a much easier time avoiding them unless you hung out with your younger siblings at some points.
