I'm Dutch, most stuff on TV was subbed my whole life. I never had this issue. And I'm dyslexic! With practice you learn to scan them quick.

Most movies I watch have subtitles. Its because I am Swedish and the movies are from Hollywood. So this flys over my head.

The idea is that you're "supposed" to be watching the movie and not staring at the subtitles because movies are visual, not solely textual.

Same here, I'm Dutch. It's 2nd nature to us to scan the subtitles and missing just milliseconds of the movie. I don't miss a thing.

Some shows are mixed to depend on a center channel speaker. If you're listening only in stereo, the dialog track can be too quiet.
