#2 Happened to me. I answered someone's question in a well-thought-out manner and they accused me of AI. Sir, I have the 'tism.

#10 A sugar packet you'd use at a gas station or cafe is one gram of sugar. Basically, 183 of those packets would be the same amount as in that cup. Learned that one in med school. Never realized how much sugar we actually consume until after that lesson. I've become a more aware and eat less sugar because of it.

#4 Outside the US, waiters don't have to put out a whole show to qualify as a good service for you to tip. They can't be bothered for anything other than bringing the food to the table. Maybe a smile if you are a regular and they like you. As it should be... Pay the people some salaries..

To be fair, there is a video of him wearing a SuperMan T-shirt in Times Square underneath a giant poster of his face and no one recognized him. (Not even a weren't you the romantic rival in Stardust?)

#20 I got a look at my paper medical files once while I was waiting for a doctor. I found that his nurse practitioner had described me as 'gruff and well-fed' while the doctor had put me down for 'obese and surly.' Someday I have gotta get that on a tee shirt.

#3 It's not your age. It's the fucking studio mixers. Trying to isolate the dialogue track is futile. Fuckers.

#2 I hear ya, but AI is real...
JayEnfield
There are furry artists who have had a particular set of textures and tones for 20 years and now have to defend every picture with "guys, they trained the AIs with my stuff, I literally posted a video of me drawing this, stop fucking accusing me of AI"
Slash0mega
ok, fine, its McCarthyism

'Witchcraft' was sometimes herbal medicine, they didn't like it because it often worked and people would go to it over prayer (which didn't work any more than doing nothing). Recorded 'instruments of witchcraft' were often tools for preparing medicines.
Of course, that was a way of tying something they didn't like into something they'd already kill for (that they made up), gotta watch those authoritarians.

#16 yeah, haven't even seen my cousin Cody in over a decade

Isn't this one explained by Americans choosing which first name they use?
Kid I lived with when in the US went by Andrew, then Andy, then his middle name. And it seemed, from my experience as a middle school teacher there, quite common (had 4 Elizabeth in one class, which turned out to be one Eli, one Lily, one Elizabeth and one going by her middle name)
Littledirtybirdyfeet
Cody isn't short for anything, though? My cousin hasn't changed his name
cobysev
I'm a "Coby." I knew a few Cody's as a kid, and my brother in-law is named Cody (who was briefly engaged to a Cory). But I have NEVER met another Coby in my life. I know they exist; I googled my name and there are a few out there. But in all my world travels and the 4+ decades I've been alive, I've never met a Coby anywhere.
Littledirtybirdyfeet
There are two in my family. Granted, they're both on different branches of the family tree (the two Cody's respective Grandpas were brothers)

#1 I recently realized that she may be calling him an otter as opposed to a bear or twink. I.e. gay man terminology. I think I'd have to check the original thread to make sure, and f that. Staying away from Twitter.

#22 isn’t there like 15? 9 from the trilogies, rogue one, solo, two Ewok movies. That’s 12. Ami missing anything?

Why is " Burnt Umber " a lighter shade than " RAW Umber " .....?
ThisMachineIsABrokenDream
ghostlight
Umber is a natural pigment made from clay rich in iron oxide and when it's heated some oxide breaks down into hematite which is a bright red
Puppetmeatpudding
Burnt umber and raw umber just goes to show no one knows how to cook umber..
mouseasw
Or sienna, or ochre.
IceWeaselX
Chemistry.
"Umber is a general designation for a sedimentary mineral substance containing between 5 to 20% manganese oxides and hydroxides and a larger % of iron oxides. The higher content of manganese oxides compared to ochres is responsible for the brownish colour. The calcinating or burning corresponds to heating the material ... removing water molecules from the crystal structure. This ... results in a shift of the colour towards warm brown."

#22 12? The episodes yes, thats 9, then Solo and Rogue, thats 11...
Which one am i missing here? 🤔
henriquecm8
9 Episodes, Holiday Special, Solo and Rogue One.
And an animated Clone Wars movie, that serves as pilot for the animated tv show.
There are also 2 Ewok movies called Caravan of Courage, but there aren't canon, and I think most people consider them meh and forgettable.
Hevach
There were two animated Ewok Adventures movies but now we're at 13.
Clayman8
Jesus i forgot the Ewok ones... hell i saw them when i was a kid too, i completely blanket out on them
Vebrandsson
#22 the 9 main episodes, rogue one, solo, and the animated clone wars movie? Am I missing something? We can discuss the quality of any of them for days but 12 is the right number unless I missed something.
henriquecm8
9 Episodes, Holiday Special, Solo and Rogue One.
There's animated Clone Wars movie that you mention, but I think for this meme they mean the holiday special.
There are also 2 Ewok movies called Caravan of Courage.
TxGrutier
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Holiday Special was TV, not a movie. It was a variety show, made in an era where variety TV shows were very popular.
NotSomoneElse68
It's movie length.
silentpat
Wait...is youtube show Caravan of Garbage named after Caravan of Courage? ... several years later and I'm just figuring this out *sigh*
Vebrandsson
I suppose that's fair. I was personally defining movie as "theatrical release" as the animated clone wars movie did hit theaters, but the holiday special, ewok and droid films and other things like that never hit movie theaters. There have been 12 star wars movies to play in theaters and I just didn't compute how that'd be controversial.
