One night in 2016, I went to bed thinking, "Maybe I'm not giving this guy a fair shake. What if he really does want to end corruption and 'drain the swamp?' Back in the 90s, I recall a few right wing radio hosts trashing Trump for hanging with the Clintons, being a sex-creep, a shady real-estate salesman, etc.. they loved tying Trump's sleaze-factor to the Clinton scandals. The right-wing strawman was that he was popular with the Democrats, because he was seen at functions with the Clintons.
