As with the other episodes performed at CBS Radford Studios' Stage 9, the largest on the lot.

Seinfeld was never meant to be a show about nothing, as it is often described, but rather the adventures of a comedian getting material for his show. Jason Alexander threatened to quit "Seinfeld" in the third season. After the table read of "The Pen", which features only Jerry and Elaine, Alexander pulled Larry David aside and said "if you write me out again, do it permanently." In 9 seasons, that was the only episode he wasn't it.

Jerry Seinfeld offered to voice a character on South Park, but later declined after Matt Stone and Trey Parker had only offered him the part of "turkey #2"

The motto among writers and cast of Seinfeld was "no hugging, no learning" (one writer said, "There will never be 'a very special episode' of Seinfeld"). In one scene during the episode "The Secret Code", Kramer tells Jerry, "Well, at least you learned something." Jerry replies, "No, I didn't."

Roger Ebert permanently retired the word "midget" from his column after Danny Woodburn (aka Kramer's friend Mickey on Seinfeld) wrote to him and called it a "hate word" for little people.

The "sexy wake-up service guy" who called Elaine on Seinfeld was Peter Dinklage (Tyrion on Game of Thrones).

Newman's first name was never revealed in Seinfeld

When aired, that finale was watched by 76.3 million (58% of all viewers that night) making it the fourth most watched regular series farewell in U.S. TV history, [behind M*A*S*H, Cheers and The Fugitive.]

Frank Sinatra's death coincided with the Seinfeld series finale. Sinatra's ambulance was able to arrive to his house and then the hospital quickly because of low traffic due to much of Los Angeles being inside to watch the show

"Seinfeld" has made US$2.7 billion on reruns through June 2010 since it went off the air in 1998.

Overrated show.

This show had nothing to offer to anyone besides people just as shallow as them or the people who longed to be like them.

It's odd how this show isn't popular or very well known here in the UK. It seems to be really iconic in The States.

And it's still like 500$ for the box set.

It’s 76$ Seinfeld: The Complete Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EIJTLK4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_zfWYAbY64348W

Humour is such a unique concept. I watched a dozen episodes of Seinfeld over the years and found it boring. Can't please everyone.

I hated that every show was the same show, Lying to get out of something uncomfortable, Rope everybody else in to help the lie... 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 5

2/2 then eventually the lie blows up in everybody's face, they all look and feel like idiots and NOBODY EVER FUCKING LEARNS ANYTHING.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

I hated it for exactly the same reasons. Now, prepare yourself for the downvote hatred that’s incoming.

It was a CBS production. NBC distributed it. Common across TV shows in the US

They didn't have color in the 90s.

What's the matter Seinfeld, too good for turkey #2?

8 years ago | Likes 149 Dislikes 4

Seinfeld only wants turkey on white with avocado slices and mayo.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I dont think he realised that people as big as John Trovolta played side chatacters. Also, big ups to Matt and Trey. They never sold out.

Love Seinfeld. Hate Friends.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Getting through the first 2-3 episodes of Friends was really brutal for me. I'm fine with people liking the show, but I just don't get it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I tried repeatedly and NEVER made it through an episode of Friends. At least Jerry was an intelligent, eloquent character.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Thank You! Friends is unwatchable for me

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

So even Larry David couldn't stand Costanza. That implies it's a well written, well acted part. Just like FRank Burns.

8 years ago | Likes 70 Dislikes 4

Frank Burns eats worms!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well Costanza was Larry... so...

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

I always found Costanza's self-loathing more pathetic than humorous... still made a good foil for the others...

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

My favorite person on the show. I loved how no matter what nothing went his way, until the day he did the opposite of his normal routine.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That was indeed a great episode! I'll be sure NEVER to watch it! Nor tell anyone about it on Imgur. Hey, WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING ?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Summer of George.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Probably because Costanza was basically playing Larry David, and he didn’t like how he was being portrayed.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's possible to go over the top when ridiculing a friend, or superior... and actually hurt their feelings.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll bet LD cried ALL THE WAY to the bank.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, anything written for Jason Alexander was approved by Larry David; maybe he didn’t like having a mirror held up in front of himself.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's what I'm saying. Alexander did TOO GOOD a job playing a pathetic loser. Hurt Larry's feelings.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Although I worry about how actors of despicable parts get along in life, since the public seems unable to separate the role from the actor.

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

There's an episode of Curb your Enthusiasm that adresses this matter with Jason Alexander

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

His role in Pretty Woman didn't help one bit.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They may indeed, learn to accentuate the worst parts of their actual personality to be as convincing as possible on screen.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's a death sentence being typecast; hopefully the $ make it worth it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The irony of your rant is that Costanza's character is based 100% off of the personality of Larry David. Many things that happened (1)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Rather than ironic I'd call it more "self loathing."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To George actually happened to Larry David IRL (2)
