the way is see it, theyre true to the series, although not as creative or good as the originals

Oh I member

But... but why? Doesn't that mean we're watching basically the same movie twice or is this some kind of movie making trickery?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

May you also give us examples of how water is wet, and the sky is blue?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My problem with the prequels had entirely to do with the onscreen chemistry of the actors... or lack thereof

Lucas is a creative genius but a terrible director

Great cinematographer, horrible writer. Plus the less experienced cast means the lines were read verbatim from the shitty Lucas scripts

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

So...he's a one trick pony then?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I've never looked at it like that but that's pretty awesome !

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But where do the miticlorians fit in?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

ir you know. It worked before so why change it. Lazy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

So I just saw 10 hours of movies in like 2 minutes.

9 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 1

there are no prequels

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And the award for worlds longest gif. goes to...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Star Wars Ring Theory is interesting. It doesn't mke the prequels good, but it does provide some context I think.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

What was up with that craze of people talking up the prequels all of a sudden? I tried rewatching em and couldn't even get past Ep II.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like lazily copied was autocorrected to deliberately.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Too bad they sucked ass

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

eyyy pontypool was good

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd actually be ok if Disney remade the prequels. I'd pay to go to the theatre to see them in support

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Same. They need to be revisited

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'd also be happy with them editing the prequels to be less cringey.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's like poetry it's sort of... they rhyme

9 years ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

Yes they do and that's because history repeats itself

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Jar Jar's the key to all of this. If we can get Jar Jar working. Cause he's the funnier character than we've ever had.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's so dense, there's so much happening in every shot.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

"Hopefully it'll work"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Except what really happened is that he just copied scenes from the originals that were big hits

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, the prequels might impress me, but I didn't, so they don't.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

fuckin midgets

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Most midgets commit suicide, not the R2 midget, no he's still going.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, Kenny Baker died a few months ago

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ohhh man, I really am sorry to hear that though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(quoting a movie, friend)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but there's still a lot of stuff that doesn't really fit into the theory that has to be given excuses for.

9 years ago | Likes 112 Dislikes 4

Also they pick in chose scenes out of chronological order from some of the movies just to make it fit w its prequel/trilogy counterpart

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I don't remember much podracing in A New Hope. Or C3PO's clumsy hijinks blowing away stormtroopers by the dozen. Or spinkick Yoda.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 3

Shhhhhh we like spinkiick yoda

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

wait you discredit this because it's not 100% copied? You realize how dumb that is right?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yep. That's exactly my argument. Being miffed at ridiculously bad stuff in the prequels = wanting a carbon copy of the originals. Duh.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

you're saying they don't have a point with the gif, which they clearly do..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, because the ring theory argument doesn't hold up without eliminating characters, scenes, and events, despite being the whole basis of it

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Oh I didn't know we were talking about some theory

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Why would this be a negative thing? A franchise drawing upon its own aesthetic is a bad thing? Or do we just hate Lucas?

9 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 5

It's just hating on the prequels. Back to the Future did this same thing, and no one hates on Zemeckis for it.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

The prequels ruined all the great reveals in the originals. So if you watch it in the episodic order it's crap. Also the lack of practicalfx

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Machete order, yo.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But it shouldn't need to be that way is my point. Use the universe you created but don't over use things.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I dont OP is saying it's a good or bad thing, just pointing it out. that said, there's nothing wrong with the "poetry" thing lucas tried to

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

do. it was just executed so poorly in nearly every way-- script, acting, direction, cinematography, plot, everything

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Didn't you hear? Nobody can enjoy the prequals, i do and therefore (despite growing up with the original triolgy) i am not a "true" fan

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I love anything Star Wars even seeing a silly lunch box in a supermarket I jump like a child

I hate Lucas and have no problem with the similarities. I think they're good. Keep it feeling familiar.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

I feel like that was passive aggressive as well though..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

... what? I am? I think you're just going in with a defensive mindset bc of this website being full of assholes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I meant the keep it familiar part. You know it's tough to read inflection via typing. Just sounded salty, like "keep it easy to digest"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I wasn't being sarcastic.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"I hate Lucas" for what exactly? For coming up with the whole thing to start with ?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He had a decent idea, unfortunately he just wanted to use it to sell toys ever since, story has always come second.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a pretty basic innovation. Medival wizards in space.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yet he was the one who came up with it in the first place as jj Abrams said "the man is a genius" and he deserves respect

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It was a good idea that he executed very poorly.
