Don't be a dick, don't hurt animals

Jan 26, 2018 3:21 PM

This is Hansel, he made the front page back in August because how how shitty his owners were. My rescue group brought him in and we just got an update from his new owners

This is Hansel now. He's a happy, trouble making boy.

What a beautiful dog! I hope those who abused him have been doubly abused and barred from ever owning another pet.

That Hansel. He's SO HOT right now

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hansel! He's so hot right now. If I were to boop his nose I would burn my finger.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

People who hurt animals should have the same done to them. See how THEY like it!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's that damn Hansel, he's so hot right now.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I don't think people with documented sadistic behaviour should be allowed pets or children

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Omg he is beautiful and looks so happy

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just don’t know how someone could do that

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

I'm not gonna cry...yes i am.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some people shouldn't be allowed to breathe the same air as the rest of us...very cool end to the story!

8 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 2

There is simply no excuse for this behavior. Abuse animals and you'll probably abuse people too. Scum should not be tolerated. http://i.imgu

I'd have a raging boner too if I knew my life was about to get immensely better.

I call em like I see em!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

THATS WHAT YOU FOCUSED ON?!

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 9

Yes.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Focused, or noticed a sizable difference in overall color?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh get over yourself.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

Animal cruelty. I can’t even.

8 years ago | Likes 203 Dislikes 2

A saw a video of a Chinese policeman, punching a golden retriever to death. According to the video it took hours to die.I wanted to kill him

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

I said the same thing to my missus after giving our goodest boy some luvs; she said it takes a special kind of fucked to even, I agree

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Theres a special place in hell for these people. Even Satan loves dogs, but is sad all dogs go to heaven so he’s even harsher on dog abusers

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok. I get this. I really do. But don't humans come first? Like...if there are limited resources to help, shouldn't we focus on people?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 34

There’s a difference between abusing a dog and not helping a dog. The argument is people shouldn’t abuse. Period.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We should help everyone. We could do it, too, but we're busy fighting 3 wars.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I see way more posts on here about abused animals vs abused human beings (there are lots)... Seems imbalanced.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 18

The difference is that humans are shit and dogs are exclusively loyal to humans, regardless of how shitty we are.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Dogs aren't loyal...they're domesticated and trained to need us... Sentience is infinitely more valuable and worth saving.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dogs are indeed loyal. All life is worth saving, but entities without the ability to communicate are the most vulnerable.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whilst a valid point for discussion, this comment has fuck all relevance to this post about the wilful neglect and abuse of animals

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank You for Your Balanced and objective feedback! It's great to see people think about the bigger picture and not just one moment in time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely not. They can help themselves.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Well duh.... nobody ever argues the opposite of that

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If I had to pick a human or a dog without knowing either I would be hard pressed to choose because man is a fickle deceptive thing

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

That's...horrible.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Dogs are the best. In a room of people I head straight for the dog. Every time.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is it me or do his eyes still look kinda sad? I know dogs let go of stuff & he's not carrying the abuse forward. It's probably just me.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

After knowing him all these months, I'm pretty sure he's just plotting his next destructive act ha

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They remember it and it shapes who they are. Like with people

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do not believe they have the capability to remember as we do. They may develop bad habits which seem to stem from memories, but if you can

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

break the pattern and reinforce the right behavior, they can almost always improve in ways that might be quite dramatic. We sometimes don't

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

help them by always treating them as what they were, an abused dog. We have to teach them new habits with positive reinforcement. Watch this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

video and see what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI13v9JgJu0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dogs remember people and events and can learn to associate it with words. Some dogs get excited when you say "go for a walk" for example

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't say they have NO memory, just that it's not like ours. Many experts say it is our tone of voice that they read and respond to.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My boi has sad eyes and he was pretty fucked up when I got him. They 'member the bad times

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I don't think they really do. They aren't goldfish, but they aren't like us either.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My buddy took a year to really become a dog again and he is still skittish. I think he does carry it with him.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Many trainers say that WE tend to carry the anxiety and the dog responds to our concern. If you treat him like he has that history, he may

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well continue to act that out. Treat him as you would any other dog without the history and he will likely surprise you with his response.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It amazes me the transformation they go through in body and spirit when they know they are loved. I fostered 19 dogs. 2 were in bad shape.

8 years ago | Likes 510 Dislikes 1

I can't imagine how terrible they feel when they look that bad.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

God bless you, seriously!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How do you foster 19 dogs and don't just end up with 19 dogs?! I don't think I could let any go!

8 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 2

My first foster lived with me 9 years. They asked me to adopt him after a year because of his health issues. He was my best buddy! Miss him

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s what they call a “foster fail” but I think it depends on how ya look at it. Also once you keep them the vets no longer will pay

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I let them go because another dog needs to come out of a kill shelter. Many live better lives than I could give. They are rich dogs now hehe

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wonder this constantly, I work with someone who fosters, usually 3 dogs at a time. If I could have pets, I would have 5 already.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I fostered 13. I always felt good and was very happy when one of my good boys / girls got a new loving home. That's all I asked for.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Same...I fostered about 14 and loved placing them in new happy homes!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You just do what has to be done. We need more people to foster!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I fostered one cat... I now have 2 cats.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

How long do you typically foster a dog for and are there vet bills?

8 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 0

It really depends on the rescue. One i fostered for was only 2 weeks at a time, the other was until the dog was adopted. You shouldnt 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

be out of pocket for vet bills, the rescue should pay those.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The rescue I'm with pays vet & grooming. Depends on how long they need. My longest was 6 months but he was a mess. Skinny & very little hair

8 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

Would you make a post on fostering dogs and what's required/what you go through? Avid dog lover, always wanted to foster but no idea how to.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go to a shelter near your home & ask how to foster.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He had been crated outside. Another had little hair on her back but had mats around her paws that forced nails to grow around almost into

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

her paws. One side of her mouth was matted shut. The shortest was 1 week. Usually 1-2 months.

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

I salute you. Doing great work! Selfless act.
