And just started playing The Last of Us..

The best part is getting to play all of these for the first time ever. And, yeah, I know.. PC ... Blah blah, 60fps... This was dirt cheap, thanks to the PS4, all games are cheap, and I like the simplicity. Turn it on, big TV, pizza, beer, green... I'm good.
Downvote all you like. I'm happy.

I'm a single mom on a fixed income so I don't often buy things for myself. I splurged once and got a ps3. No regrets. I use it all the time.

GOW 1, 2, 3, MGS4 (3 hour game with 12 hours of cut scenes, but it's good), GTA4. I refuse to play BethSuck games on a console (FO or ES).

Same

Good for you. You do you.If it makes you happy who cares if it's last gen and not PC standards. Also, Dawn of the Wolf was a fantastic movie

Bought Ps3 Slim on release date, bought x360 on release, ps vita on release... Still enjoying! For years x360 was main. Now its time for ps3

Bioshock Infinite was the tits. Such a good game.

I adore my beefy PC and my Vive yet I find myself recommending consoles to people, even if the only one I use is a 3DS.

Play on the hardest difficulty! It's a nightmare but it's so goddamn rewarding.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought the first pic was from Monsters Inc

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ooh, I bought a PS3 about a year ago also. Check out the Metal Gear Solid Collection, the Yakuza series, and Shadow of the Colossus.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Great choices. Be sure to add Fallout: New Vegas to the pile.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's what's great about consoles: the accessibility. Not having to worry about specs with each new game is nice.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You want the original Bioshock, the Mass Effect trilogy and Metal Gear Solid 4

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Be sure to get Shadow of the Colossus.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Shadow was amazing...I hated ICO though.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

i still have my ps2. I always got last years sports games when the new ones came out. They were super cheap and new to me.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is a sin to have a PS3 and not play littlebigplanet.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Batman Arkham series are works of art. They have a throwback feel most games don't come close to mimicking.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

How cheap? Also get the mass effect trilogy.

Tetralogy in 3 weeks.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't freaking wait!!! #FemRyder

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did the same thing. TLOU was actually a bad start in a way, because it made most other games feel "empty". It's still my favourite game.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do yourself a huge favor and get Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Still has an active and friendly community con GameFAQs.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm still hoping for the DD online to come west

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here, after a long time of watching and reading about games, last year I finally saved up for a ps3slim. TLoU - best game I ever played

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get you a Demon's Souls and ICO/Shadow of the Colossus remakes

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am a PC gamer, but not a weirdo about it. Consoles can be fun and if it was cheap, I say have a few beers and enjoy!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh, and Bioshock Infinite is freaking amazing and Skyrim will eat your life. Beware!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Last of us is a good start. Next thing you need to do is toss RE6.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Resident Evil Six? More like Resident Evil Sux! Anybody? No? I'll leave.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I'll vote 4 you to stay as our Resident Evil guy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get MGS4 you won't regret it

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 5

I bought a second hand PS3 just for that game, completed it, returned the PS3 and just wanted to cry. Excellent, excellent game

Commenting to remember this

Don't forget.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends, if you are into MGS you'll probably love it. But I had limited experience with series & found it had too many cutscenes. (1)

But it has some great music, including; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k3n5me4Rns (2)

I have an Xbox One but I am considering buying a PS3 literally just to play The Last of Us

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Worth every penny, considering how cheap you can get both.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My only wish is that if I do it I can also get games like Horizon Zero Dawn but I don't know if they've stopped making last gen games yet

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They have indeed stopped making last gen games, quite a while ago I think as well.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get Heavy Rain also.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Man, David Cage can go fuck himself with a rusty spork.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No! Don't! The controls don't function as well as they should... and the story is extremely & ridiculously stupid! It's severely overrated.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

I agree. I enjoyed Until Dawn and Beyond: Two Souls a lot more.

I got my first console, a GameCube, as the Wii came out for dirt cheap. It was great.

9 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 1

Along with eternal darkness super Mario sunshine and star wars bounty hunter were awesome.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I can't agree more. Mario sunshine is one of my favorite games ever made. Took me forever to fund the last damn shine. Those rotating levels

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mine was a gamecube as well, but 10~ yrs ago. Then an xbox 360... Which I still own! I'm too broke to get any new shiny consoles now

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too. My ps3 is good enough for the few hours I play a month. Usually just random madness on gta5

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still pull out my GC every once in a while. Great stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gamecube was dope. Splinter Cell, Hitman, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and whatever version of Kart was out back then. SO much fun had on GC.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Mario cart was great!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have never found someone else who had the Star Wars: clone wars GameCube game. The multiplayer in that was the shit.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

God, I remember the Clone Wars game. Pretty funny that the first story mission objective was an escort mission...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get Eternal Darkness. I let someone borrow it, never got it back. My fault, awesome game though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That game is expensive af if you want to buy it now.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I figured as much. I didn't think there were many copies sold when it was out. Loved it though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Last week I just bought another GC game; Animal Crossing, I got the DS version as well. Now all I need is a TV so I can play.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Loooove animal crossing <3

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hope I will as well. I'm just wondering if I should start with the GC or NDS version?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stop at the gamecube. Just my opinion

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

SSBB, Twilight Princess, Monster Hunter Tri, Okami, MadWorld, DKK Returns, Super Mario Galaxy 1&2...Wii was awesome + played ALL GC games.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Last Story, Xenoblade.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I mostly play PC now, my controllers broke and it is hard to find replacements.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well I'm sure gamestop can get you one for 40 dollars!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I checked, they can't, but they could have one shipped and with extra fees $60. I payed $30 for the console, 2 controllers, and 5 games.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like something gamestop would do!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Twilight Princess was a really decent Zelda game and i prefer the GC controls to wii. Also Wind Waker and SSBM

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Fire Emblem was fun, too. Loved GC

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But, you can play GC games on the Wii and still use GC controllers, so Wii was my favorite system with GC my favorite games

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can find them working on ebay for like 20-30 bucks you might even luck out and get bundles with controllers.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is true, but the gamecube is just so much more... adorable. I mean it has a HANDLE come on how cute is that

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True, but if you want a Wii that plays GC games you need to find one of the very first ones which have started to become rather rare.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, I got mine the black Friday they came out, I didn't know they stopped making them with backward compatibility
