There's no way this actually works

Holy crap!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That looks like a tiny torture device.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But does it work

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or for removing really tiny harmonic balancers

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gonna be a bitch to get your shoes on

CIA middle eastern torture device. I'll take two please

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a doctor I can positively assure you that this is gross.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What. The actual. Fuck.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What the fuck is that toenail?

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Fucked up. That's what.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Or a torture device to rip someone's finger/toe nails off?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a podiatrist...so much no.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

what do you recommend? asking for a friend...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they are chronic you can have them permanently removed. Easy in office procedure, involves a chemical to kill the nail root :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This makes me feel ill

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks but I'll stick with digging them out myself.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

See a Dr. Get it removed. I've had both of my big toe nails removed due to injury. They grew back fine.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

severe nail fungus issue here. there are pills that work well, otc stuff is crap. it causes the nail to become detatched udneath, then curls

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You know that scene in Ozark where Jason Bateman is tied to the barstool? Yeah... No...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I need an hour long infomercial with several black and white re-enactments before I'm convinced

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

yea! i can finally get my toenails flat! this thing for me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a mechanic, all I see is a miniature gear puller. https://imgur.com/s65O2lE.jpg

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

As someone who works at a mill, I concur.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, 2 tons is probably overkill for an ingrown nail

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Jesus, how do you let your toes get THAT curved?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

They get thicker with age, a lot of old people get them like that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's just how people with ingrown toenails nails grow. We don't have a choice.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Mine were normal until the nails on both my big toes got ripped off in two separate accidents. Now they both grow like this.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it can get worse, much worse. WARNING: CANNOT UNSEE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxsChbSnCf0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Only made it to about 3 seconds... Chickened out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I'd prefer the devices in that video than that torture device

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This doesn't stop it from occurring again. Podiatrist will cut out to base of toe, then treat w Phenol to stop growth going sideways again.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Had surgery on both big toes as a kid... still have minor issues to this day

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Had this done to both my nails a few years ago. No issues since. It was painful but I'm glad I had it done. They still look normal too.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or they'll just rip the whole thing off and burn it with acid. Sometimes it grows back, sometimes not.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

FYI-phenol is an acid (carbolic acid) and it is an anesthetic, so it numbs the area of exposure. And it is very deadly if over-exposed.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Further, it is in Chloroseptic in the US which is used as a sore throat remedy. But mostly it is used to make BPA, then Polycarbonate.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Other uses include as a feedstock to make guaiacol, which is used to make artificial vanilla. SOURCE: I used to make and sell phenol.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I didn't say it hurt, I was just stating what they do. I've had it done to both of my big toes. The point was to reduce regrowth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Couldn't help but think: "What is my purpose?"

Same here. +1

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

MAN WJAT YHE FUCK

8 years ago | Likes 0 Dislikes 2

My big toes were almost as bad when I had them worked on in high school. Was so glad to get the sides cut so only half the nail grows.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well now I HAVE to watch.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Holy fuck

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

How is that even possible?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of those look like diabetes feet. People with diabetes have to be really careful when it comes to foot health

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some of them have a bad case of fungal infection too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

I would not have thought to pair that song with that video. But god dammit if it didn't work.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

On one hand, ouch. On the other, I probably need one of those. Have had my big toes nail literally carved out of my toe twice. Unpleasant.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

Try Curve Correct. I completely eliminated my problems with my nail using it, and it's a lot less of a torture device than this thing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you cutting your toenails poorly? Cut them straight, stop getting fancy.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

So I should stop trying to carve 'The Last Supper' into my nail?

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

I've heard that's a good way to get a hang nail

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

TIL I'm cutting my nails wrong. But why are nippers curved tgen?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They make straight edged ones too, but I assume most people just don't botch their toenails enough to have an ingrown nail problem.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Its not just from bad grooming. I myself have it grow sideways from the corners of my feet and there's not much to be done about that.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Right? All fucky. I try to go straight at least at the edges as much as possible, and, a little longer than nub-close. But you're not wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No

Like rats teeth

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Yep... NO

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Trust me you dont know pain untill your toenail slices into your flesh and grows into the open wound. Its not fun. Its not pretty. Pain.

8 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

Just chop off the whole foot.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Bf had them so bad he had trouble walking. He's had two surgeries for it while we've been together and is missing one and a half toenails

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The pain of digging it out was far far less than trying to walk with it

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nope

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

No

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Maybe...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nope

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Actually seems pretty helpful. I've had ingrown toenails that just dig in, not fun, and probably more painful than the above.

8 years ago | Likes 195 Dislikes 5

Yeah, my ingrown toenails don't work that way at all.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

God I read shit like "put a popsicle stick under it" etc. This looks positively civilised in comparison.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seriously find a clean nail salon and have them fix it, they clip and file it so it grows right after. I had a bad one and they got it out.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I actually got both of my big toe nails removed, I was told that if I had them cut they would be worse in 6 months.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh boy that's rough. Mine just grow out to the sides so I have to remove them every now and then. Not fun indeed.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Having just reset a toenail with a pocket knife soaked in rubbing alcohol, I would have given this a shot before slicing up my toe.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Been there, and you're right.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"reset" jesus christ

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Done the same. Its painful getting the really deep bits out but man it feels worlds better after.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lmao I do this aswell

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It seems helpful, but I'm betting that damaging the sides of the nails and nail beds like that will only make things worse.

8 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 3

As someone who gets ingrown toenails a lot, you sometimes have to cut the sides to get rid of it so it doesn't matter if you bend em lol

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As a cosmetology instructor I have this device for personal use and it is amazing

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

I'm thinking of getting this for my own toenail. Is there anything special about this that I should be aware of to fix my toenail?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't go full throttle the first time it's a process start slow and use it for a half hour every day work up to all the way

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it hurts yours too far

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which version of the device do you have?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

What happens when the nail keeps growing? Does it straighten out or does it continue growing all fucky?

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

It stays fucky for a couple months and then it grows straight after 8 months you will be good

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Are you wearing this thing for 8 months straight? What king of shoe are you wearing then?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

if you got to a foot doc, you can get the ingrown part removed and phenolized. Both my big toes are square because of it. so much better.

8 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Had this done as well, but with out the long recovery process (only soaked it twice in one week, and antibiotic ointment for a week.)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

up and about immediately... Maybe cause I was young?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've had both sides of both big toes done, best decision I've made! chronic ingrowns (often infected) plagued me for years--now nothing!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, I did the same thing, best medical decision I've made

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I cut out the sides of each big toenail every month

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When I was younger I had it removed, doc said it wouldn't come back. It did. Not everyone has the same experience

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

they did the phenol treatment?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They numbed my toe cut 1/8 of the way in from the side all the way to root and pulled out the root with needle nose...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

there's a treatment with phenol (fee-nawl) and it kills the toenail tissue/roots from growing where it's applied.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Done at the same time? Recovery time? Can you shower normally after/get it wet?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

yeah. the phenol gets put on cotton swabs and rubbed into the open areas. Typical wound care. keep dry. crust will form. I'd say 2-3 weeks.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My doc wouldn't do both sides of one nail at the same time 'cause she said it could destabilize the nail. I waited six weeks, simple care.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea I see the pros and cons of waiting and not waiting. I've seen singe videos and while I'm not worst case by far. Some look brutal!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I did mine surgery took 20 minutes then I was up and around, couldn't shower until the next morning. After that had to soak it twice a

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

day then put on a band aid and antibiotic ointment. After two weeks switched to once a day soak + band aid but no ointment. By the end of

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

the month it had healed beautifully and didn't need any more care. Mind you my recovery might have been longer than most because I'd

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

kind of like dental tools, I can see these being cross marketed to the entirely wrong people.

8 years ago | Likes 222 Dislikes 0

Most car guys have a dental pick somewhere. Helpful for those tiny springs and picking gunk out of oil passages.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I was also thinking of the scene in The Whole 9 Yards where MCD discovered the the jaw spreaders

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I use dental tool to dab

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Dental tools are pretty amazing for repairing electronics.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

No joke. I use 2 of my picks every day.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My dad got a bunch of tools from his dentist purely for cleaning carburetors! Cool that it's a more common thing

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I made a passing comment about some of their tools in their office. My Dr. gave me a big bag of tools that were worn out for them. 1/
