Or different classes level at different rates, or only last hit gets exp, though I guess that could count as power leveling.

In some games low level characters have a faster level progression than higher level characters

Most? The only RPG game that didn’t have a progressive level XP like that was pen and paper and we house ruled it, such that we’d adjust the xp required to level up so we leveled up every week. Twenty weeks to an epic boss battle and it was over. Only time that GM ran a game for us but IMO it worked perfectly, moved very quickly, and was a ton of fun. I’d recommend it for experienced players who don’t mind doing their homework between sessions

That's how it goes, experience wise. Sooner or later they'll be only one level apart but still have the same exact gap in experience points.

In Minecraft 1.0.0 max level for enchanting was 50. It took 3,965 experience to reach level 50. Level 40 was close to the same enchanting level, but only took 1,895 experience.

Maybe. Some games also have systems that reduce how much xp you earn against lower leveled enemies, so the gap might close a little

To lazy to look up the math now but when Pokémon Go first had the Level 50 cap I think levels 48-50 required as much XP as getting to level 47.

I think Mass Effect 1 had something similar. Iirc max level originally was 60, and to go from 59 to 60 needed more total xp than to go from 1 to 59. I could very well be wrong, but I do remember the jump in XP for the last level was massive.
