I've become a barbarian

Two of my favorite Korean mangas that explore this stats idea is The Gamer and DICE. The Gamer is fun, DICE is a philosophical mind fk.

Skills and attributes are separate, dammit.

Charisma!!!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go out and socialize. There are more sources for exp than just grinding in DnD. Intelligence and Charisma all the way for me.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh boy! Here I go killing again.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Jump cut to me crouched in a corner where nobody sees constanly trying to walk against the wall.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

But do you have to harvest their spleens for XP? If so, where's the NPC for the turn-in?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only if anyone asks for it. Hospitals take blood donations. That guy in the alley buys intestines. Havent found the spleen trader yet.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sweet jump cut

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

You can actually do this by going to the gym.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Pssh. You don't gain xp at the gym. But maybe they got an arena, thats always a quick way to gain xp.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

7 points into luck then go play blackjack until every casino kicks you out

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh boy! Here I go killing again.

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

So many of you default to killing. I'd just hack into personal devices. Easier time staying out of prison which is basically a PVP Zone.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Max out that luck stat.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Guess what. You can do this in real life. Go the a gym = str dex con, uni = int wis, public speaking = cha

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Plot twist: this is the horrible origin story of 9/11

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Nah cause they lost all the exp when they died.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See, in real life strength will get you diddly squat. All in CHA. In fact, subtract a point or two from all the rest and up CHA. You 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

would become monstrously successful overnight. 2/2

[Wii tennis plays]

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My health sucks, so Constitution for me.

6 years ago | Likes 108 Dislikes 3

If you're fat then that'll just make it worse, go with Dexterity.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

How do you figure?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Whatever fixes my knee.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

... dexterity or luck feels a lot more valuable irl

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also intelligence and charisma.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dex build? Heresy. How will you wield your giant hammer?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Projectile weapons are OP IRL. Dex & Luck all the way.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and yet, no matter how many times I try to stay a barbarian, I always end up looking like this ?

6 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 0

Sounds like you need more bloodlust.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her butt plug is very fancy.

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Looks like it might be pretty cold though.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't lie, we know about the bow you're hiding.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Do I just murder stuff for XP, or do I actually have to accomplish things?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Murder isn't an accomplishment? I have failed at life!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is the core concept of the plot to "The Gamer"

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Or Dice

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have not read Dice. Given our usernames, I should probably check it out.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dice got a little too psychological thriller for me. Have you tried legendary moonlight sculpture?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope, I have not. Similar vein?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also a newer one called Solo Leveling. I like the style better, even though it's a bit edge-lordy sometimes.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Story is pretty lame though, like 99% of the writing is just listing his stat increases and gained skills.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*Pours a jug of boiling water on an anthill*

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

If you're going to commit genocide on ants at least use molten aluminum and get a neat sculpture out of it.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Then sell the sculpture for a small bonus!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just remember you can't get your last level that way.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'll use real hot milk on the next one

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eight? which eight? is one Luck? Reason to go to a casino finally!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I want to know the other options please...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Most likely it's strength, charisma, intelligence, wisdom, constitution, and dexterity.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wisdom, and intelligence. Max out my income, then have a private island I hunt things... now constitution, str cha and dex I can level up

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Naturally

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What are the remaining 7? Most games have 6 or 7. If the magical 8th one is Luck, I am taking that one all the way to the bank.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Then maybe robbing that bank..

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve played enough Fallout to know that Int and Luck are the essential skills.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

"Oh, you got +10 unarmed because of your stats? I got 10 more points to spend. I could put them in unarmed."

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But I'll probably go energy weapons instead.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Low int run is also fun. Though because Bethesda screwed up the system in Fallout 4, you can't do it there anymore.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thankfully, Outer Worlds has dialogue options if you drop your INT.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd put it into "gumption" or "a certain je ne sais quoi"

6 years ago | Likes 200 Dislikes 2

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The cut of my jib is on another fucking level

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Panache

6 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

What’s your dump stat, Chutzpah?

6 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

I could do with a few more points in vim

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You got a lot of moxie. I can see so on your character sheet.

6 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 0

Disco Bandit or Accordion Thief?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

In "West of loathing" Gumption is an actual stat.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Huh. Didn't know there was a home game based on KoL.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Definitely going all in on "vim".

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I’m more of a vigor man, myself.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

:wq

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see no one reading this uses Unix editors.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All points into INT and WIS. Now I'll learn how to level up faster, faster.

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Knowing how to level up and being able to is a different story.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Plus with wisdom I'd actually hit the gym and get that strength up instead of making excuses...

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

MC in The Gamer does exactly this. Two of my favorite Korean mangas that explore this stats idea is The Gamer and DICE.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I love The Gamer so much. I'd love an actual video game based off that system.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you read "Solo Leveling"?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, what is that?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You should definitely read solo leveling hero and legendary moonlight sculpture. Both great manga. And LMS is finally updating after a year

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, every kill gives you at least ONE xp right? And an anthill have a lot of ants, and boiling water kills ants, right?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Use molten aluminum. Put all your points into CHA. Sell and repeat until maxed out everything.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are advanced strats. I like it!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is like buying a single weapon with banishing on it in Skyrim and then making 1.2 trillion iron daggers of banishing using minimal

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

resources

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*Awkward cha 8 intelligence 14 finger guns*

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

6 INT screaming "HE'S GOT A GUN!"

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*Wisdom 6 confusion, and also facepalm*

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everyone knows that boars in the forest are the best way to gain xp

6 years ago | Likes 1265 Dislikes 4

But the easiest is cows.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Quilboar tusks

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Protip: go after humans, so that you can then kill their zombie, AND kill their skeleton. That's like, three enemies in one fight.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Obelix???

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a reference to South Park - Make Love Not Warcraft.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dude just get a high lvl to boost ya in deadmines...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well I'm stuck on hello kitties island adventure rn

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dont know, in Gothic boars would fuck you up. Rats are probably the safer way

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In the original Everquest you went out into a zone consisting of one big green polygon and one big blue polygon, and got killed by...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...three polygon rats.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 140 Dislikes 0

I've found the most powerful item in the game! The rock of boar slaying!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A snake kicks *YOU* for 10 points of damage.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But boars are only worth 2 xp a piece, do you know how long it would take to get 50 levels that way?

6 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

You would have to have no life. Which is the only way to kill that which has no life.

6 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Yeeeeeaaaah..... live.... yeeaaaah! Win!!!

6 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

So many boars

Real talk: That shit can be scary. One boar nearly red ferned my friend's 160lb dog. Those fuckers are mean.

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Do they really travel in giant packs?
