I love this game so much but the weapon durability is a fucking pain.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like this is the first and last time Dark Souls didn't try to fuck someone over with a weapon.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For all of five minutes before they shatter and become totally worthless to be replaced with trash tier weapons.

Thanks red box, I would've totally missed the fucking joke if you didn't do that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To anyone wondering, yes it's worth buying a Switch to play this game. :3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Thanks for that red box, I would have missed the entire last tweet without it

There are idiots and there are idiots. You're welcome.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Dark souls was to repetitive for me

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like the stories :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could someone tell me what I'm looking at? All I see is dark green with an arrow above something and link with... Something?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I laughed my ass off the first time I looked at the map after dying and seeing the red X, and says R.I.P. When you move your cursor over it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ppl forget nintendo came up with shoulder buttons as well

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

But took over a decade to put a second analog stick on their handhelds.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

D pad for fighting games are still the best imo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why do I care? Shit is just going to break in less than a minute anyways. Amazing weapon! ... and it's gone.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dark souls is more like the older Zelda's not botw . Botw is more like Witcher with cartoony graphics. still both look good

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

And vice versa

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

There's a key difference though: dark souls retains its difficulty throughout while BotW gets easier towards the end.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

I've got 23 hearts and max upgraded Hylian Armor and I still died to a particularly nasty Moblin camp.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dark Souls isn't really like that. It has pockets of difficulty. Some spots are shockingly difficult but outside of those it's fairly easy.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Not if you build competently at all.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uh yeah pretty sure that dark souls targeting system is based on z targeting.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Am I the only one who isn't really enjoying Zelda: BotW?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Probably

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is that a reference to "Nintendo Hard" games?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, its a reference to the weapons breaking every 5 minutes.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The reason I played the Souls series is because it's basically dark fantasy version of Zelda

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Dark Souls is more like castlevania than zelda

Not in the direct sense but there are similar labyrinth type levels that require a fair amount of problem solving.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Like Sens Fortress, and also pretty much finding any shortcut.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yea, and each of those weapons will break after 3 enemies ...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree, the weapons should last more than 20 seconds each. Or at least be able to repair them with ore or something.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always find it interesting to watch a creator being influenced by something and then eventually influence it.

9 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

This would be a great place for people to post links to such things.. Any time now..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

uncharted and tomb raider have gone back and forth a couple times. both inspired by Indiana Jones which was based in 1930s short films

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

George RR Martin and marvel comics were an interesting one to me.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also why open source should be embraced

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's how great ideas bloom.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Since we're naming examples here, Homestuck inspired some of the characters in Steven Universe, which in turn inspired parts of act 6 in 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Homestuck 2/2. Man that was right up against the character limit.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Dark Souls fanboys, listen. Your game's not that hard. You're not that hard. Please, shut up so we can move the fuck on.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 19

Sounds like someone died at Capra Demon a few too many times

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a fan and fully acknowledge it's not all that hard once you get used to it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I commend you for that. Too many, apparently, hinge their entire self-esteem upon it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Not difficult at all, it's mainly about learning enemy patterns. Gotta pay attention. My first DS2 run was a brawler. Good times!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It really feels like you've never played the game before. Anyone who has understands that the game isn't hard, it just doesnt hold your hand

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think the game is hard. I'm addressing those that do and use it as a way to look down on others for not being "gud".

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and this results in mostly fair encounters, where failure only results from player error.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like you need to git gud son.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I've been "gud" since before your mother mistakenly carried you to term, little buddy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 18

Haha based on your disproportionately harsh responses to everything we can probably just assume your butt hurt doesn't end with dark souls.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

1. Please refrain from assuming things. You are terrible at it. 2. Judging by the amount of downvotes, I'm not the butthurt one. Cheers.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's exactly something someone who was bad would say.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Takes one to know one. I'm rubber you're glue, all that middle school shit you seem to be really "gud" at.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 13

I thought you were boning moms, not in middle school

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Come at me scrublord, I'm ripped.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

They should'a taken the notes on how to implement weapon durability properly.

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 6

Well they did. Nintendo doesnt do PC eiither

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your Guardian Spear++ is badly damaged.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How cautiously are you playing that you're not DROWNING in Flameswords, Royal Broadswords and Dragonbone Lances?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They would feel so, SO much more special if there was just one of each and they didn't break.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I constantly have to figure out which of my high powered weapons was used to break that one rare ore deposit, so I can choose which to toss.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

use a bomb like a normal person?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And this is after spending like 60+ seeds on weapon inventory slots.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They did, they referenced dark souls 2.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Even DS2 repaired your weapons when you sat down.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It did, but to kill everything in an area during exploration only to have to sit to repair (unless you have the repair spell) is a bummer

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*spoiler alert* in my reply

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The Master Sword repairs after awhile.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Downvoting the replies to hide them, upvoting the original alert to even out. but what about the actual FUN weapons?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1/ It's definitely a bit of both. Nintendo really defined the 3d generation for a long time, and the action adventure genre with Zelda.

9 years ago | Likes 118 Dislikes 3

Even going back before the 3D gens, Nintendo has always been a trend setter. They're definitely gimmicky, but that's how the industry grows.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean the Z-targeting basically dates back to OOT and that's being used in an astounding number of games. Great 3D mechanic

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Including dark souls right, hence the comparison. The human brain is hardwired to compare, we only usually compare to the best/worst though.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2/ Now they're following the example of what the best of the modern fantasy genre has to offer with Dark Souls. I think that's awesome.

9 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 2

Work off of others' ideas. Iterative progress. How civilizations & technology progress. Cheap knockoffs are cancer but this isn't one.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yeah and they took some example from games like Skyrim I think this is exactly what Nintendo needs.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Butof course because the switch didn't sell well on launch day and it has some problems it's apparently "Nintendos newest flop of a console"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They've taken good inspiration with multiple weapon fighting styles but the durability went too far.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCMDG51cf5w I beg to differ. This video pretty much sums up my thoughts.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I feel durability is where it needs to be. Keeps me trying out weapons, testng new strategies. Rain gets me to stop climbing all the time.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Kinda feels like that was the intent. They don't seem to want people to get locked in a favorite playstyle 24/7. Experiment a little.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I absolutely love the difficulty change the new Zelda game has.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I honestly love that it's difficult but very forgiving. A death in Dark Souls can often be devastating 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed. I went to the coliseum right after starting. That was incredibly fun!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

dang, doing the coliseum right after starting?! Now that's hardcore.. The red Lynel for the Zora quest wrecked my shit with 7 hearts.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yep. Only had three hearts, died a bunch of times. By the time I finished I decided it wasn't worth the resources I used, and reloaded save.
