EDIT: This the first time my post hit the frontpage. But this is about the artist and all the awe and support you have shown to him is amazing. Thank you imgur.

His effort really shows.

Inalways thought a lack of color perception would lead to a better understanding of light and shading

It's fascinating cos it's not like he doesn't have a colour sense, he just has a different palette to the general audience he's creating 1/

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

for, and that could be a part of why his work is so distinctive. 2/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope he gets those colourblind sunnys and can see his beautiful colourful drawings

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh hey, that Aurelia one is my desktop image.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my opinion, his work could even come out better because of it.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He probably spends more time thinking about colours and combinations than other artists do.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My husband is colorblind and he's starting his career as a filmmaker! Also I know some prominent artists in Hollywood are colorblind

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have the exact same color problems as him. It took me a long time to even know I had an issue. How do you classify this?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didnt check the title and was like "wow, has he done magic cards? If not he should. Lol"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The last image have this slight colour variations I would imagine a colourblind person would oversee. I think it really adds to the painting

5 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

.. in this case!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have similar colour blindness to what he described. It's less that we see fewer shades, just that the brackets around them are different

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Case in point: lots of red/yellow leaves in autumn (fall) still appear to be green to my eyes. But they're still a million shades of green.

Breathtaking work!

I wonder if those special glasses for colorblind people would work for this artist. https://enchroma.com/

Beautiful work!! Love MTG. Arena is getting me through quaruntine

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey these are Magic Cards!!! That’s amazing

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a colorblind person, I'm incredibly proud of my pigment-challenged brethren.

A colorblind makeup artist. She used similar tactics to overcome the difficulties https://instagram.com/colorblindmua1?igshid=13h3h34v8s2ic

I think the first art piece is ‘vaya’s ghostform’? Not quite sure though

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

tfw a colorblind, or at least partially colorblind person is still way more talented than I am. Oof.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't believe him that he got yelled at by teachers for painting sth. green yellow. Maybe he got told to change it and he found it [1/?]

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

embarrassing and his memories turned it worse over time. I can't imagine a realistic scenario where a teacher would YELL at [2/3]

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

someone "How dare you paint this yellow?!" Especially since art class is usually a joke. Nope, not buying it. [3/3]

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh, look at the Mr. Amazingly-Talented-And-Overcame-Adversity over here with his beautiful art! Hanging around mortals! 10/10 awesome stuff

Why so salty?

5 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

It's ironic salt. A ferrous sulfate, most likely.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Its just an imgurian dialect, a veteran knows he means well

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Truthfully, I’m not. Just realizing that artist has poured heart and soul into creating beautiful creations and I still have to find my

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Own passions to throw my soul into. It makes one think of where they are in life and what’s left to be done

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Now that he points it out....I do notice a lean on browns and yellows.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They all have amazing use of colour, but that last one is insane. How even? I wouldn´t know what colours to use and i can fucking see them.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Build composition first in black and white, then choose a limited palette. First shows you where light and shadow are, second makes color -

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

choices easy. Finally pull in dashes of reflected color. That's where you get purples and blues in dirt, and reds and browns in clouds.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That ties the whole work together. This guy is great!

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Meanwhile another colorblind genius made a camera to analyze the color he is looking at and play a tone to identify it. Augmented senses.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Doesn't take a genius and overall unreliable stuff due to camera white balance and shit. Source: tried picking a ripe banana with one,

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remembered it a bit wrong, it’s implanted in his head and vibrates at a frequency that corresponds to the color the sensor is looking at.

okay, *that's* impressive

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ohhhhh MTG magic the gathering. I am big dumb. Thought it was just an internet digital artist, like works for commission. Was gonna say 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If he's worried people won't hire him from that... No way I'd commission d&d pieces. His art has some great vibes like that. But I doubt 2/3

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could afford it then. Professional, MTG art- maker guy. Okay. Thnx 4 reading. Byeeee

Still a Good comment.

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Looking closer, he really doesn’t use green at all!

I went to upvote the original and not only had I upvoted it last year, but I accidentally stumbled upon my own comment. Odd.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've done that on YouTube. "Oh, this guy gets it!" Oh that guy is me.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good that you still agree with yourself!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dudes colorblind and kicks the shit out of art. Nice!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Upvote because it’s mtg. Always loved the game and the art work, especially the art work.

5 years ago | Likes 502 Dislikes 2

the game MTG Arena is awesome and makes it really easy to play !

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to live a few blocks away from the Wizard of the Coast building and always wanted to visit them. Stupid covid ruins everything.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...Except Drew Tucker, right? (This joke is brought to you by "an Ice Age ago")

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've got an eldrazi deck that absolutely destroys everything. The first few goes are a race to acquire as much mana as possible. It has some

5 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 5

I have a mono blue eldrazi highlander with blue braids to cheat them in... turn 3 Ulamog is no joke

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Desolation Twin, Breaker of Armies, Bane of Bala Ged. Am I warm?

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The 3 times I’ve played my eldrazi deck were against 2 red land destroyer decks:( And a blue mill deck! Absolute nightmare!!

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My eldrazi deck gets most mana from scions and artefacts, so bring on that red

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My friend has a beast of an eldrazi deck. I even have a hard time with my pestilence demon deck against it.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I made a black devotion deck a while ago and I have been slaughtering my friends with it. Grey merchant is broken lol.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

...really high cost creatures and enchantments but if I can get them out they are almost impossible to counter.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I've got a green omnath EDH deck that is only green so I can immediately ramp fuck loads of mana. Then it's eldrazi time, on turn 3

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I recently made a green and red deck that is unbeatable so far. I think it has the bottom pic of his art in it.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

doing art digitally is possible for color blind people now because you can just ask photoshop what color something is and tell it to make it

5 years ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 3

You can also color shift the entire project so that the colors you can't see are now colors that you can see, then shift it back when done.

5 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

i knew a colorblind watercolor painter. He painted beautifully. Talented people make do.

5 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

as a colourblind person who likes to do art, it's not really that simple. It's also about composition, making sure things work together and

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

being able to mix colours to work for whatever subject you're doing. It makes it easier, sure, but it's still easy to fuck up bad with color

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

just a little redder.

5 years ago | Likes 58 Dislikes 0

You still need to be able to tell how much red is appropriate, though.

5 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 1

This. You need to be able to tell if a composition will work from the RGB values

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That's where constructive feedback is invaluable. You'd not just giving pointers, you're being someone's eyes.

5 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Tubes of paint these days are labeled IIRC

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 6

LOL man i think i know what you were going for but this made me laugh so hard

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah but when you mix them they don't relabel themselves with a new name or colour code

5 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Me: when I mix paint, I wish it would gently moan the name of its new colour Genie: there are four rules
