The adaptors look so angry.
InboxMeWhatYouLove
Too many plugins!!!
SanityAsylum
Patch it until it works.
UltimateQueefMachine
Isn't that hardware though?
Liammozz
UK plugs are the best those American ones just look dangerous as hell
nefmon
As a JavaScript developer - can confirm. Although in reality it's likely one ends up with dozens of "reductions" :D :'(.

And this is why I code everything myself from scratch. It takes twice as long, but it's thirty times less frustrating.
Ehjuin
Should probably learn how to approach a problem if this is what you think of programming :(
Calsang
but arent those the screwholes
Knovas
Damn the potato quality!
beergolem
I dunno, this seems like it might be backwards compatible and documented. You're one of those perfectionists, aren't you?
Strostkovy
If you use US plugs just snap off the ground pin like everyone else. You can also plug 2 in 1 socket (4 in one duplex) if you're brave.
YuriThunderBalls
Apple
wracky
And that's one of the reasons why your phone's battery life sucks.
Perfzilla
Modern? That's the way shit's been since the 70s
Beelsebooob
No, in the 70s people actually wrote their own code, rather than grabbing 100 incompatible frameworks and trying to plumb them together.
Except when coding it solid state. Don't ask Gladys to weave your bug out of the shuttle's core memory again, George. Just don't.
MigraMines
So what you're saying is modern software development isn't grounded?
idontevenknowsillymonkey
Actually a good representation of the creative process.
lenomdeplume
More like a representation of the adaptive process...see what I did there?
PlbMak
Soooo, get creative, and then you die?
Poopypandapantaloons
In the long run? Yes.
Digpoint
As an American, WTF kind of plugs are those
aDapperBear
What country is that with those crazy plugs?

Most accurate representation I've ever seen

More like "Modern game development"

As a software developer, I'm furious at how accurate this is +1
neil137
what country has to deal with that plug? one of the ones that dosent matter i hope
talesofgaming
Are these real plugs that people use in day to day life?
bjevilcat2
I work in QA. God if that doesn't look about right hahah!
BiiiigJilm
Please tell me that actually works
It does - though the ground is not connected, so it's pretty unsafe.
mooseablethenok
For varying definition of "work" yes.
lostandlonelyguy
It will… for a while.
ArdentSlacker
Technically, they just extended the + and - ends. But the ground plug not going to ground is... not good. Fixable, unless it catches fire.
Absolarix
It works, yes... but with certain adapters like these, you can be one flick of a switch from dead. Just ask "bigclivedotcom" on Youtube.
YouHadMeAtHell
As an electrician, it's your fucking funeral.
Fairdinkums
Taping a fork to the end of a plug is way easier
Fextrus
At this point it's practically safer to wrap the prongs in aluminum foil and stick them in the outlet. At least you'd have a ground.
Fucking funeral? Is same as wedding?
pieceofcandy
Laughed for like 5 minutes.
HookersandBlow
As an electrical engineer, job complete. Stamp it and on to the next task. ;)
SpaceDuckZeta
How to die: a gif
Fre3bs
Also as an electrician: the inside prongs still go where they need to, and the outside prongs are not connected. Its not grounded though...
Yes it would work. It's just icky.
valen00
you know that's how the software for your phone was bashed together right ;-> btw, there wouldn't actually be any live conductors there no?
Readyfortheweekend
Nah the prongs that are left over won't be live
Haha no it actually would work. Just no bond.
themeaningofluff
One of the two exposed contacts is almost certainly live.
demizu
How would they? The top and bottom adapter prongs aren't connected to anything. The extra prong on the plug is a ground.
Yeah, I made a mistake. Kinda forgot the basics of how plugs are wired just because it's a format I'm not familiar wit
klubai4
Almost certainly nope not at all.
MyRegularAcctIsntAnonymousEnough
as an engineer, i am cringing wicked hard
Anister
I know its practically suicide, but will it theoretically work?
LordStarkillerHimself
Same. I see dead people in the gif
Smidge204
As an engineer, the only danger here is the lack of equipment ground - which may or may not be an actual hazard depending on the equipment.
the loose connections aren't good, but it was more the random poking that got my ire up
The exposed pins aren't connected to anything.
