I keep sayin, i think a gritty bsg-style last-stand reboot movie could really work for those of us who grew up with the kid version, right? Heck, I'd watch that show... we got anything like that going on right now?

Honestly, I think the closest thing to that was Babylon 5. But anything actually based on the movie, or it's premise? There's been rumors and such of scripts in the works for a long time. As recently as 2021 there were talks about a sequel script for a movie. But I don't know if anything is ever going to happen.
