I popped home at lunch to give foster kittens Jason and Freddy some wet food and their coccidia medication. Freddy has been VERY standoffish but look at him now! I’m careful not to touch him too much, he’s still getting used to being close to me. They are both doing so well. And their little meows are killing me!!

Coccidia is species specific. But there are a few strain that aren't. And thst doesn't stop me from panic washing everything 🤣

Not op, but I believe they are. As for how this can happen, tabby is a dominant gene, so only one copy is needed to make a cat with the black color gene a brown tabby. Colorpoint is recessive, and this little guy is a seal point (black color plus colorpoint) with white. Since only one of these brothers is a colorpoint, at most one of their parents was colorpoint, too. Could be neither, though, and a surprise recessive trait snuck through!
