Ukrainian intelligence operates in the deep rear of the Russian Federation, and these operations will definitely be included in sabotage and history textbooks.
Ukrainian news and analysis agency Defense Express writes about this.

The strike on the Kresty airfield near Pskov in Russia, where the 334th Military Transport Aviation Regiment is based, was the most effective operation of the Ukrainian military.

Available satellite images show the complete destruction of two Il-76s with no chance of recovery, as well as critical damage to the center section of two more of these Russian military transport aircraft.

At the same time, the possibility of restoring the Il-76 parts that were damaged raises huge questions. It is impossible to repair them on site, and if they are to be restored, it will be done only at the Aviastar-SP manufacturing plant in Ulyanovsk.
But the planes are not in airworthy condition due to damage, and how to transport them 1300 kilometers/807.8 miles from Pskov is a rather interesting logistical challenge.

Chief of Ukraine's Defence Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov confirmed that the attack was carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation, and based on the provided image, copter-type drones were used in the attack.

Budanov's words mean that Ukrainian intelligence officers are operating not just on the territory of the Russian Federation, but more than 650 kilometers/403.9 miles from the border with Ukraine. And they are acting effectively.

On 30 August, drones launched from Russian territory attacked an air base in Pskov. During the attack, two Il-76 transport aircraft were destroyed, and two more were heavily damaged.

On the morning of 1 September, Ukraine's Defence Intelligence shared a video of a Ukrainian drone being chased by two combat helicopters and one airplane: https://imgur.com/gallery/g8QeFNg

This is a great victory. I do want to know how Russia handles the logistics of getting the plane to the factory and back with damage control. That does seem interesting. Though they might scrap it too

The funniest shit is that Russia keeps going "yes, we can confirm this plane took minor damage" while there's a pile of flame-engulfed kindling in the photos.

Legit. I overheard an elderly German lady today VERY loudly calling Putin some names while talking to Ukrainian refugees. She then praised Zelenskyy before going back to insulting Putin and the horrific war he's built. I think the family honestly didn't know what to say, she was so vocal lmao. She even taught me a new word which roughly translates to "all shitted up."

Should we start referring to Russia as Northern Ukraine, to go along with West Taiwan?

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Well, strictly speaking history-wise, Russia *is* north Ukraine. Or more precisely, Ukraine is actually *the* Russia, while the state we call this way today is just some offshoot of northern Ukrainians enslaved and interbred with the servants of Mongols. While Kiev was the cultural center of the Slavic world, Moscow was just called "Zalesie", literally "a place behind the forests", because it was a total shithole.

That said, I would still prefer designations "Ukraine" and "the khanate of Muscovy" respectively.

Great post. One issue. I dispute the claim that the 334th Military Transport Aviation Regiment is based. If anyone's based in this, it's the Ukrainians.

We can call the 334th Military Transport Aviation Regiment "grounded".

Russia's mainland defenses are more porous than a Swiss cheese sponge after a round on a shooting range.

To be fair, the place is enormous, a feature that was pretty solid defense before high quality rapid aerial reconnaissance.

Ye the old tactic of, just let them walk themselfs to death trying to catch up to us dosnt really work as well nowdays as a defense strategy.

And what are we looking at here?

Multiple fires at the Pskov airbase. Drones also hit a fuel depot there.
