Great movie. Need to read the book.

Tyler Durden was in part based of Diogenes. Diogenes would burn Wall Street the fuck down.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Dear Wall Street, v

Am I the only one who reads "don't fuck with us" as sounding more like fearful pleading?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Plot twist- the 1% caused high unemployment to get away with treating people like crap.. the workers could quit or strike but people are /1

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So desperate that there are literally thousands who would take their place, so the workers put up with it.

He would commit terrorism and blow up buildings to "Erase debt" Even back then companies had off-site storage for data.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Blow up a building probably

This does appeal to the petulant 12-year-old boy in my soul, and I've yet to convince myself that the little bastard isn't absolutely right

If loving this is wrong, I don't want to be right!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You should read the book. It was much more ambiguous and less simplistic than the movie. That said, I loved the movie.

5 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

I'd give each their pros and cons. Ending of the movie much better, overall character development in the book was much better.

I have an ambulance?

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If you live outside the US, yes.

We've all been raised to believe we'll grow up to be millionaires...but we WON'T...and we're very, VERY pissed off.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hmm just casually severely missunderstanding the point of the film there I see. That's cool. Sure sure sure sure sure.

5 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Become Christian Slater in Mr. Robot. The creator of that show denies he ripped off Fight Club

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 7

Palahniuk didn’t invent the concept of split personalities or people trying to take down society.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Depends on what Chuck Palahniuk says

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

How so?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I hear the book is very different from the movie.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tyler ends up in a mental institution, thinking he's in heaven cause everyone's in white, literally out of touch with his own mentally ill

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mostly the ending.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ah. Thank you.

That authors book are disturbing, I read only 2 of then and had to stop, was wigging me out

Tyler Durden would start a fascist terrorist group because HE'S NOT A ROLE MODEL STOP MISSING THE FUCKING POINT

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

A broken clock still right twice a day.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah and Hitler invented the Autobahn, I'm pretty sure if I cite him rather than Eisenhower to justify highways I'm telling on myself

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The most compelling antagonists are such because they use true things to justify horrible actions.

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Y'all. Tyler durden was a cult leader who preyed on insecure men with his toxic masculinity. He's the bad guy. Also he's gay.

5 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 7

All of that is true. But is he wrong in the above statement?

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Within the context of the movie they represent a cult of extremists with a black and white world view: Fight Club is the type of

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

group that would burn someone down for firing a pedophile if that pedophile was a member of Fight Club.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I've never seen it, but from what I've heard Fight Club is another one like Breaking Bad where many fans are men idolizing the main 1/

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

Character thereby completely missing the point.

5 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

If you think Tyler Durden is someone to emulate, you didn't understand the movie/book.

5 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 4

You can appreciate his wisdom without imitating his every action.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is this a healthy role model.jpg

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just because he was the villain in the story, doesn't mean his motivation (or possibly pretext for action) wasn't valid

5 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 3

All villains are valid (heroes) until their ideals do not add up with societies at large. We need a hero we dont deserve.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, his pretext was "I am owed being a movie/rock/all star and I'm angry that I'm not being given that." It's a pretty shit motivation.

5 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

In the book his motivation was a singular moment of pure perfection that justified all the hard work. Burning down the world qualified.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

His motivation was to erase all debt so as to restart meritocratic democracy

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Except that wouldn't work, his plan would harm poor people far more than it would rich people.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

"Human Sacrifice"

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

..... at least in the movie

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not even in the movie. The purpose was to create chaos with a new start. There was no plan afterward. Just chaos.

Goddamn. Me and my college best friend saw that 7 times in the theater. I'm a 40 y/o stay-home mom now, and still love that fuckin' movie.

5 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

We saw it at a second-run movie theatre so it was only $2. Im so old.

5 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ours were always $1 second-run theaters. A poor 90's kid could have a good weekend at one of those theaters, couldn't we?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We were snuck by my then-boyfriend's brother, who was a security guard at the mall.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tyler Durden would stick his dick in crazy and burn down Wall Street.

5 years ago | Likes 874 Dislikes 4

Tyler would rob a bank, put all the money in GME, change the password on his account and throw it away.

5 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I only watched half the movie, so I know he did at least one of those

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

*spoiler Edward Norton is Tyler Durden.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And marry crazy behind jacks back while keeping things moving. There is a 2nd graphic novel.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wall Street hasn't been fucked like that since grade school.

I'm down with some Tyler Durden or V for Vendetta right now. Let's shake things up

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'd prefer V. Movie V that is. Less anarchistic.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

fight fire with fire

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He also would storm the capital. Dude literally (by proxy) led skin heads.

5 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

Yeah, I kinda think the people who've lionized Durden didn't get the point of the movie/novel.

5 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Lionized is such a cool word

5 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yyyeeeaaahh...Durden is....not a hero

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Tyler was a bona fide anarchist. He'd storm the capital, but not for trump.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

He'd have burned the capitol and everyone inside.

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Exactly. He'd do it too sure chaos, disrupt social order and level the playing fields in society not because some orange maniac played him.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Tyler wasn't an anarchist because he had no care for any sort of functional system: he was only for destruction for the sake of distruction.
