Well it kinda depends on the your contry laws on mine that is illegal regardless of the number of lanes. Is it legal on the US ?
On a multi-lane some people "ride" in the center lane - speeders pass on left, avoid on/off merges on right.

It's legal in most places. Drivers here stay in passing lane below speed limit and don't use it the way they should, for passing.
