Vaguely themed post today 'cause identity issues! Old me is still confused and doubtful and stressed and not super sure if new me even exists (I think that's called impostor syndrome but maybe I'm just faking that thinking too) but I waxed some things (Fuckin' OW. People live like this?! ..Sosmooththoughohmygod.) and bought a cozy fuzzy thing. One thing I realized coming out was how much I don't like body hair. I haven't tried waxing yet, but I shave constantly, and if I didn't live in a fairly Conservative pocket with Conservative coworkers at work, I'd probably be nixing even more than I already do.

If only it was working and not just making my face wax-sticky. Dumb strips. <.< Had better luck mushing sugar goo in and ripping the roots out when it hardened...But I used all of that (ate some of it too; basically lemon caramel~) and can't remember the video I made it from.

It's caramel with lemon juice in it. Eating it was my first instinct. It backfired when I bought some pre-made that has flowery scent stuff in it. .-. Blech.

People say "just be you" to simplify, but it can be hard to understand the meaning and for some people it doesn't work. For me it did, once I got it. I think I'm definitely not trans, as I don't see myself as a woman, but i really like displaying some more feminine aspects of myself, like painted nails, long hair, shaved body, some mannerisms and tastes. I don't label myself as "just gay" either. All this can change in the future, of course. 1/

Some people disregard labels, like me. For others, labels help a lot. Both are valid. But sometimes when you put yourself in a specific group and find an aspect of yourself that don't belong there, impostor syndrome kicks you in the ass. Labels are useful, but don't let them be a cage.
In short: be yourself. Wax that body and paint those nails. Don't owe anyone an explanation if you don't want to. The couple times people asked me why I paint my nails I tell them because I fking rock them 💜

First order is figuring how to grow nails. Years of compulsively biting them (I'm better now, 97% of the time!) has left them annoyingly stunted.

Well, as long as there's SOME nail, you can always paint them. No need to grow them out! Unless they're really gone... Pro tip: always have nail polish remover and q-tips at hand. Just paint away and clean the sections where you'll inevitably miss after it's dry.
