Great job! It must feel amazing to get that far

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So badass!!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congratulations it is a big milestone fly safe. My first solo way 8 years ago.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Flew in early 70's, no headphones or shoulder belts, didn't even have transponders then yet. I remember it was like $17/hr Wet. Have Fun!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Smile of true, and innocent happiness on that face... Wonderful

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Aye. I can see your accent from here.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You posted this, so you must still be alive. :)

Damn your good

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So, how many times did you respawn before you figured out the controls for lifting off?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

At least like 12 times

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Love to see pics of people getting high on imgur

I dunno if that means what you think it means. #420

Stay away from the Bermuda Triangle.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember watching this on that BBC show. How's the dream of being a commercial pilot going?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember the feeling of soloing for the first time. Greatest feeling ever! Congrats!

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I dunno, I've solo'ed more times than I can remember, and I don't remember when my first time was. But my first time with a copilot...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You uh...you ARE talking about flying a plane, right?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Full Clip: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0473wgn

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Mm hmm. So is "StreetMilk" "Lizzie"? Or what do we have here?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is it on BBC?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

bc OP did a show for BBC... Why else would it be on BBC ??

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

So you thought because it's cool and makes you look like a badass you can just repost it for extra fake points...? good enough for me +1

8 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 20

hahaha you know me too well sir ;)

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 17

He must know a lot of pilots well; that sounds like every pilot ever. Remember, every time you tell the story the winds get worse and worse.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ha, that brings up memories. Congrats OP! Did you know in advance you were gonna solo? My instructor just told me to land and go to the(1/2)

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(2/2) parking area, he got out of the plane and told me "you're ready, go do one solo". It was amazing.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well because i was being filmed for a documentary, my instructor kept me in the circuit until he was sure i wasnt going to burst into flames

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

it was actually a huge release!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is nothing like the feeling of your first solo take off. But your first (safe) solo landing is much more momentous. You should post it

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 2

The first landing is usually decent it's the third one that blows.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha that is actually exactly how it was for me. Nailed the first so. Third was ugly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's pretty much every student. I hop out 1st one is good, 2nd a little worse, 3rd they get complacent and screw it up

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They were looping it at her funeral.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey look, an attractive female getting most viral doing something that an average-looking person would get -10 points for doing.

8 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 43

Dude, I'm fugly and when I post cool shit I get points. Ive been most viral

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

If she wasn't wearing that awful yellow shirt she'd likely look better, that color is not complimentary with her complexion.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Matches her headphones.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No shite!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm pretty sure ANYONE who posted this would get a lot of upvotes. It's an exciting moment.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 13

Hot girl does something, better rig att atleast 3 cameras

8 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 9

Cameras are excellent for debriefing flights, especially during initial training (though it's never a bad idea to keep using them).

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lots of private pilots put a few GoPros in their planes. They serve a lot of useful purposes.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Were you surprised by the rate of climb without the instructor's weight?

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

You callin me fat?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're the instructor?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yep! No.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually yes, but even in a cessna that thing is pretty slow and steady! haha

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

I soloed in a 152, and my two strongest memories are how it leapt off the ground, and the realization that there was no one to help me land.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What's your long term goal? Hobby or career? Instrument? Commercial? ATP?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Chemtrail?!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That damn dirty hydrogen.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember the aircraft reached circuit height much earlier! Nice you have a video, but I remember it all very well 35yrs later...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is pretty cool. Been looking to be a pilot. Just on question. How'd you come up with 25k for lessons?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Join the military. That's what I did and I get my wings free of charge in about a month from now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Working at Krispy Kreme, passion for flying and a whole lot of grit

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

So... you can fly donuts to my heart?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Also it only usually costs around 7k for PPL! :) Silverlining!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Ah. I heard it was 25k for privates license

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In the US you can get a PPL for under $10k (fixed wing). Helicopter is $15+

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have $15 dollars!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So many questions! Where do I get to do this? Do you have the whole vid? Please! Please! Pleeeease take me with you!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

There are schools that you can go to that will teach you how to fly and get you licensed. Vincennes University does it, but they're in IN

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0473wgn Find an air club near you :) They'll help you out!! Im in the UK!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Found it! Aerosim Flight Academy. Brb. Headed there to get started. Thanks!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

RIP to your bank account.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it expensive? I have to admit that i dream to flight in a small plane but i never did the research

8 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 0

You should be aware that a flight in a small plane is rather rough. Much ups and downs because of wind and air density changes. And loud.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah i never really think all this through. Just that i did scubadivin, and i would like to feel how it is to fly in a small plane

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...did you just ask how much she charges?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Heh? No just how much she paid for her course

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

haha, I know. It's just... look at the thread in which you asked the question.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Getting you license is expensive, but most airports that will train you will let you do a "Discovery Flight" to try it out for around $100.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah in swiss their is a small airport near my town. Maybe i'll go see some info

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah its expensive, i literally didnt spend on anything else but flying for a long time. In the UK its around 7K to get your ppl

8 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 2

In Michigan, mine was roughly 5k

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's pretty close to what it is here too. Our local Community College here in Western NY offer classes believe it or not.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

where in WNY?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah, i used to fly with my dad as a kid, and now wouldn't be able to do that if i had one. So pricey. But a lot of good memories!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here. At about 7-8yo, I used to sleep on the back seat. Always DR400.

Gopro's on suction mounts. Anybody who can afford flying lessons and to rent a plane can easy afford $2k worth of gopro's and mounts.

It's a risk they accepted when they did the stunts, but how do you not convince yourself you killed your wife?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wonder where he will be mentally in ten or twenty years. That has to weigh heavily on him, and he's still flying - not sure I could.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I was thinking similar, inverted aileron?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or Loop w/ aileron roll?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's closer. It almost is an actual barrel roll. What most commonly refer to as a barrel roll of the aileron.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not even sure what its called. Its a "jam this stick over there and hope it does that thing you want" manoeuvre.
