The running line I have been seeing is "lol, imagine protesting against having kings when america doesn't have kings anyway. What idiots". Probably from russian bots, but I've seen it many times in the last week since the admin started calling it the "Hate America" protest
I loved the morons screeching about why there were No Kings rallies in countries with monarchies (like the UK), as if they couldn't see the stark difference between a King who has a) always existed and b) doesn't want to control every aspect of our lives and ship our friends and neighbours off to fucking concentration camps.
There has been a lot of research and pulling that shows that a large majority of the U.K wanted the monarchy to die with the queen. Many have been outspoken about how it is a corrupt and outdated practice that has outlived its benefits. Not nearly like we had here, but there wasn't 0% support, their were those that took no kings messaging to the streets.
Yeah there's a wild difference between a king in a constitutional monarchy who is bound by law and the constitution of a country and whatever the fuck Trump is.
Trump is already borderline a pre-magna carta king, ruling by abusing the law and not being bound by it himself at the same time.
The gulf between that and a guy who could in theory, at government request call another election if a government say, shut down and didn't do its job or something, are so wide the comparison is ludicrous.
But what happens next? Why sglild trump care in a couple of weeks when it's all said and done? (I'm not saying this isn't great, but I don't know if it'll make a difference in the end..)
This should wreck him. This is what he wanted for himself so badly that the fact that it's against him will likely throw him into a rage. Narcissists are PREDICTABLE that's why they're so beloved as tyrant puppets by the people that need one to do their bidding.
