The American Dairy Goat Association currently registers and maintains herd books and production records for eight breeds of dairy goat in the United States: Alpine, LaMancha, Oberhasli, Nigerian Dwarf (a miniature breed), Nubian, Saanen, Sable, and Toggenburg.

Kids dressed as flowers are not considered a separate breed, even if they are really cute.
