I mean, no it doesn't matter. Recentering a discussion is lame regardless of sex or gender. If I came across as terrible, I guess so be it. If I saw a post about how men's emotional needs are often dismissed and belittled leading to a crisis of unmoored and angry young men, I'd also call a comment saying "what about women" lame.

it's a weird expectation of perfection in all things. Having a kid has made me realize that strangers will compliment me as "super dad" on basic dad things, but offer my wife "advice/condemnation" at any given moment about our kid.

It's strange, really. As a dad, those complements sounded very condescending. "I'm amazed you were able to change a diaper, well done!". But when things weren't going well, my wife got all the support, and I barely got a "how are you doing" from people.

Of course they should get downvoted. She’s making a joke about her experience as a woman, but the commenter wants them to acknowledge that this happens to everyone, that would make for great comedy. If a black comedian were to do a bit about what it’s like being black, should they start it with a disclaimer that white people can experience issues too? It’s a sketch, doing a “but all people matter..” just smacks of insecurity.
