This is Steve Drazkowski a Republican Member of the Minnesota State Senate.
It's easy for him to say bullshit like this when you don't have to worry about money, housing, hunger, and medical care. I suppose basic human empathy is just one of those things he no longer needs while serving in the position of leadership with tax dollars provided for him not children.
As a person who has suffered hunger and later actual starvation into my young adulthood; I can't begin to describe the horrid position and lasting experience you must deal with when you are trying to feed a hungry sibling because your local state and family home both failed.
I'm nearly 40 now. I haven't forgotten, and I assure you that children growing up will not forget either.
Apeofdeath
What a bitch

"Don't talk to the poor. If I ignore the problems of the poor then those problems don't exist for me. Poor people shouldn't exist."
ElRigs83
Okay so his platform is if I don't see it it doesn't exist?
TeddyMoment
Even if he sees it, but it doesn't align with his narrative, it still doesn't exist.
GreyKnightTemplar666
I don't live in his district, but I want to tell my family members that do, that I'll disown them if they vote for him again.
ActionJohnnie
Cut a hole in his roof and shit in it.
Bugguts1957
Has this fella ever met any of his constituents?
VictusVonGuyver
Unlikely outside of those willing to host parties.
JeffGodofBiscuits
"What's the definition in the bill? I didn't bother to read it, but by god, I'm gonna be vocal about saying everything in it is wrong!"
Clockworkdancerobot
These are republicans. they get their bills and voting cues from ALEC. They're not paid to understand what they vote on.
SomeDetroitGuy
"I don't interact with the poor therefore they don't exist" is a REALLY FUCKING WEIRD TAKE, BRO.
agonarch
It should be a really, really cheap plan to implement if what he says is true, as it'll barely be used and they can trim it down over time.
GravyEducation
Okay 1st, there ARE hungry people in MN. 2nd, you should, especially in a state like ours, be entitled to more than a fuckin granola bar 1/
GravyEducation
A meal. ESPECIALLY if you work jobs for your kids, food jobs where you're not guaranteed a break and eat standing... I've almost fainted 2/
