They're probably hoping that this gets them off the hook later with "it wasn't a fair trial", "I wasn't capable of making that decision"
AsparagusSyndrome
We laugh now, but remember that these same idiots nearly seized the US capitol and were prepared to kill or ransom elected officials.

Now watch him get a shorter sentence than someone who bounces some checks or steals a case of beer.

If lawyers don’t represent themselves, then you should especially not represent yourself!
To be clear, that’s in general. Obviously I’m glad this idiot represented himself. The more jail time the better.
SeasonedCitizen
He tried to disqualify the wrong judge. As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a maroon."

What does a NY state judge have to do with it?

Good, let their own ignorance dig their graves for them. Fucking traitors

Ok that smug face to says "I know exactly what I'm doing" then proceeds to constantly fuck up, every single time he does everything
userfriendly19777
Probably still a better defense than Rudy Giuliani could muster up.

I demand a re trial. I was represented by a moron!
AnotherCleverUsername
Man when you read the article it's not even funny, it's just sad. Like a person so warped that there is no way to process him correctly.
RCSpotz
Will probably still get 2 weeks in jail
SoFreshAndSoCleanClean
Considering this is the same judge who let one of these people off with only a fine 2 weeks ago… I’d say the defendants odds are pretty good

Yesssss. We can favorite gifs now. And this is one of my favorites.

So he'll get an extra mean look from them as they slap him on the wrist?
Toffeeaccident
Sent to bed without dinner.
d3jake
Imagine being so arrogant and diluted that you think that you can navigate the courts on your own when accused like he was.
ratfaceddog
Yeah, that guy’s totally watered down.
This is the same Trump-appointed judge who let one of the rioters off only a fine just two weeks ago, and then bemoaned how they weren’t…
…being treated fairly. So forgive me for being skeptical that this defendant will ever see a jail cell, regardless of what he admits to.
AnyRandomBob
I mean I don't fully disagree, however he is in jail currently.
eyeLied
This is why, while you're allowed to represent yourself, the judge lets you know upfront that it is a bad idea.
It's like a gameshow host when they ask if you REALLY want to pick Choice B. It's a hint.
thepromisedLAN
1/2 I mean we all know he was convicted, but Ted Bundy actually had a brilliant legal mind. But very few of us are Bundy intelligent.
The exception to prove the rule.
nipplepanties
Bundy was studying law for a while. Never passed the bar though
Userlivewire
He had a brilliant mind. He was simply applying it to law at the time. He was also ethically empty. The thing is, no matter how smart
You are, there will always be more people on the other side working against you and numbers wins over intelligence nearly every time.
2/2 plenty however, that are Bundy level insane
I mean, even if you did have Bundy legal brilliance? What's one more layer on the case? Nothing's stopping you from helping your lawyer.
KiraFaye
As a former attorney - this.
ThomasTheWankEngine3
like when you say hit on 20 and the dealer say..what..you sure.
I used to play Blackjack a lot. This one dude would always double down on 17.
SomeDetroitGuy
He seemed to win more than he lost. Maybe he only did it when the count was low...
Badsequence
I play BlackJack at least 3 times a week and the number of ppl that don't know how to play which ruins it for others pisses me off. 1/2
TuxKamen
Yeah. Fuck that. I go to the casino to have fun. Not to have some degenerate get angry when my choices barely affect them.
On a BlackJack table your choices do affect others that's the point
ruferto
if evreyone had the same rulebook, wouldnt that be boring?
Everybody does have the same rulebook. We don't all know the statistical advantages of certain plays. I like boring. I like seeing most
spacecowboyein
I see people at the hold em table get so pissed when a new player makes plays they don't expect. It's part of the game. You're gambling.
Yeah but in hold'em you are playing against other players at the BJ table its everyone against the dealer.
Like splitting 10's hitting on a 12-15 when dealer is showing a 4-6. Doubling on a breaker at least that only affects them.
NotToBeTHATGuyBut
I played with a dude that would never hit 12 no matter what the dealer had.
