Oh, great now I can wait in line 15 minutes to pay for the stuff it takes 5 minutes to grab.

My Safeway didn't have self checks for a LONG time. Every time I waited in line, I asked "When are you going to get self checks like Kroger?" Their rote answer was "the manager says we will never have them." Well, two years ago they put them in and they are great (as always) since I rarely have to wait for a self check. I was indeed in Walmart last week, and all the self checks were inactive. Pro tip: the garden center checkouts are not busy and you can buy anything there, not just garden items.

Anyone who isn't in the top 1 percent should feel good about robbing Walmart blind, really.

At least one item per trip. Gotta recover those tax subsides somehow

everybody was stealing at self checkout

There should be some self checkout stations for 10 items or less, but they shouldn't be relied on as the only option to make a purchase.

Yeah, I've seen people at Walmart trying to self-check an entire overflowing shopping cart, requiring clerk help multiple times in the 20 minutes it took them to do it. Why? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
