This is what the internet is about. Sharing knowledge at the speed of light. Fuck corpo interests and their bloated greed.

IT'S GOT TH' JUICE!

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How long in the microwave? My dumb butt will end up with burnt popcorn.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on microwave strength, but I go 2-3 minutes. You'll have to try it a few times.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to go to Iowa every year for a family reunion. We ate a lot of corn. How does nobody know about this?!

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You'll have a huge success next time !

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

man, how is it that I'm from probably the corn capital of the planet (iowa) and never heard of this shit

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now spread it !

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So wholesome

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I cannot wait to try this out this summer! I love microwaved corn on the cob! This is brilliant.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grandma's like "What? No way. Fuck's sake."

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

before or after you boil it?

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think this is before (so fresh corn), the leaves would look different if they'd be previously boiled

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

so hard pour corn instead of soft pour corn

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Since I learned this a few years back it’s the only way I do it now.

Real pros then take the fully cooked cob and slather it in street corn seasonings, hit it with some lime juice, grill on the high heat side of the grill for ~90 seconds while rotating, and finish with butter and maybe a picante mayo/crema

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I fully agree !

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Every corn lover should know this neat trick.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That Brit accent, lovely

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's the fun in that

1 month ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Seriously ripping that stuff off is satisfying as all heck.

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

also, messy as all heck, so I can see the appeal of this

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

who doesn't love corn hacks?

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grandma hype is the best. "You should be on the television!" Such a nice moment.

Omg you missed the corn kid days? He blew up on twitter years ago. He may be in HS by now.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gramma was right there with you as far as grabbing the furry bit.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My 88 years old grandma, that has always been a housewife, cooks in the most inefficient way.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do this hack for her, you'll both have fun together !

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shucking corn was a kid's job and you don't give kids a knife big enough to cut the end off an ear of corn

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Unless that kid is named Chucky.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Chucky's too scared to use a big knife. Tommy, Lil, and Phil, however, would probably be okay with it. I'd be worried about the others if Angelica was given access to one.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

what they didn't mention here is that you first microwave the corn. That causes steam which is what makes it slide out cleanly. Personally still think that a steam/poach results in better corn. Smoker or bbq is even better... Neither method is that conducive to this though.

1 month ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Yeah microwaved corn on the cob is gonna be mushy and gross, no?

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That seems like critical information. This is no longer nearly as cool as I thought it was.

1 month ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

if i have a corn with husk, that thing going on the grill and im using the husk as a handle to hold so i dont get butter all over me hands.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You should try it deep-fried some time. Literally just shuck it and put it bare into the hot oil (warning, it will cause the oil to pop a LOT, so put a screen or something over it). It's amazing, I first had it at Pappy's Smokehouse in St. Louis, I was like "I have to try cooking this myself."

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I only deep fry my steaks. If I can get away with a shallow fry I will.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hey, I disagree with you as I think raw corn is the best way to eat it. Tastes buttered and all

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

literally no one thinks raw corn is better

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

How long do you nuke it?

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

usually 4-6 minutes, depends on how big it is. https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/the_easiest_way_to_microwave_corn_on_the_cob/

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think like 6-8 minutes, but we would husk ours and wrap in plastic. A full cob in husk is pretty large and didn't fit the microwave

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We found as long as the stem is cut to be minimal it tends to fit in our microwave. but it's pretty big

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did she learn this on CornHub?

1 month ago | Likes 138 Dislikes 6

The line "Then you grab the furry bit" makes me think so.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I need people to know there is a philadelphia area food truck called corn hub

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, she did end up with a quite erect cob of corn.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They may have another usage for corn on that site ...

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Giving you a spiritual upvote, but you're currently at 69 which feels cosmically right.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The problem with Cornhub is you get a lot of stalkers.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think this qualifies as soft pour corn, not hard pour corn.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If it helps you quit you corn addiction

1 month ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Grandma could be an influencer that I might actually follow. And yes, I do want to try this with corn on the cob.

1 month ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

I plan this for the BBQ in may ...

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a kid I vowed to never have to shuck corn again. My dad would go way overboard with growing it. There was multiple truck beds full I had to shuck.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Summer is on the way and I live in Illinois, so I'll be trying this on sweet corn soon.

1 month ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Also in IL, it works, I promise! We steam it in the husk then just a hit of salt when it's done, but it's divine well buttered too!

4 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Remember when you could regularly get a dozen ears for a dollar? Miss that.
