You got the one with the afterburner from Harbor Freight, didn't you?

Also handy for reverse searing steak. Especially after sous vide, guga approved. v

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

But does it kill the root?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is actually just moronic for so many reasons.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Now this is “gardening”! I could get into this…

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Your garden hose is MESSED UP

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

Nah, this is the fix to Flint water.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Global warming anyone?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

“What set your state on fire this time, another gender reveal party?” “Nah, some guy really aggressively weeding”

4 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 3

First thing that came to me. I was like well there goes a leaf on fire to the dry brush.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Top tip, just singe the plant and leaves rather than anhilate. it won't be able to photosynthesis, and shouldn't grow back at all

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This still leaves roots inside, so plants can regrow. A herbicide applied on green parts might be better idea.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This really speaks to me as both a professional geologist and professional pyromanic!

4 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

I was about to tag you when I saw this post haha!

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Haha, it's perfect, getting rid of all that pesky vegitation so we can see the geology!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The saga continues! What will this man do to his rigid rocks next? Stay tuned to find out next time!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just brush the plant with the flame, that way it has to pull all it's water out of the roots trying to survive (it doesn't)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

When you're not already burning enough hydrocarbons...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aaaaaand now California's on fire.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I need this for spiders

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 6

What have the spiders ever done to you?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Spooky scary spider legs crawling down their spine (skeleton song adapted for spiders)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why the fuck would you give them flame throwers???

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Funny

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mix in the occasional pellet of black powder to keep things interesting.

4 years ago | Likes 327 Dislikes 0

not quite, but you're on the right track

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If memory serves, black powder doesn't explode unless it's packed in a container, it just burns. You need flash powder.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Sprinkle it in like Salt Bae.

4 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

I like take your suggestion into consideration, but don’t call me Bae.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The burner is not recommended, waste of money anyway. I'd suggest just make a habit routine to pull one weed out a day on your way to work.

I don't recommend it, but sure, why not. :D

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

An excellent follow-up to yesterday. Bravo.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not in California, I see.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Burner is not recommended, waste of money though. I'd suggest a routine of pulling one weed out a day on your way to work. It's therapeutic.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

For this reason, you'd save money on the gas as weeds will keep coming back, even if you got rid of the roots.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OMG THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I FUCKING NEED!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This does nothing. You have to pull the roots. ALWAYS

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

easier said than done with 2K sq ft of interlock driveway

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hide the symptoms rather than fix the cause!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

while maybe causing the next wild fire/ house fire! brilliant!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can I ask how effective do you find this? More so than regular poison?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

herbicides seep into the ground and stay there , not something you want if you have fruit growing nearby , as over years it will get more>

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

and more into the ground and then get in your fruit , even tho it might be away like 10m , generaly dont use these unless there is no other>

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

choice , for pests there are natural remedies , for weeds use your hands and pick them

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Fire is good alternative , propobly even cheaper(weed killers are pricy) , leaves no ground contaminants and works instant.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thank you! Now just need to find me a flame thrower…

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i knew it, you are the same guy that was drowning their rocks earlier. What is this kink !?

4 years ago | Likes 160 Dislikes 0

He's just trying to get his rocks off.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

“drowning”

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anything to get their rocks off

4 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 0

Damnit, you made me come back to this post and upvote. Well done.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Almost there, just dealing with my erocktion.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I don't like to use herbicides so this is how I keep my stone driveway weed free. It's very satisfying

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

I don't either, and I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to use fire (Phoenix, AZ), so I just use Salt & Vinegar and let the weeds fry in the sun

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My monobloc driveway is the bane of my existence. With the fire method, how often do you have to do it? I.e do they still grow back quickly?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I use both. Some spray to kill and fire to clear them out, makes sure any remnants of seeds or such are destroyed.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some seeds need fire to germinate.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not these fuckers, they do just fine without it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Huh, never thought about it but is this the usual method for getting the greenery out of rocks?

4 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 3

It's just a temporary solution. But it beats getting down on your knees to hand pick all the weeds

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

If you do not right you also damage the roots enough so they don't grow back.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here in Belgium products like Roundup became illegal as far as I know. Now I see a lot of professionals using burners instead.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that is all fine, until you need to remove invasive brambles. I would love some roundup at this point

Nope. Roots need that sunshine energy, if they can't have leaves, they can't get it. Most die and never return.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

It takes like 10 minutes every quarter, rather than hours on your hands and knees though.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If you do it right you damage the roots enough so they don't grow back.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Fuck all y'all that downvoted me. You obviously don't own a weed torch.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a bonus, you can use it to melt the four billion tons of white bullshit off your roof in wintertime.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Rock salt will kill that greenery !☺

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Some places a fire burn is illegal. If it were me I would use boiling water. It kills the plant and the seeds in the ground too.

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's the easiest and fastest if accuracy is not a concern.

4 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 0

It works great but a great way to avoid harmful chemicals is to use rock salt.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

Do you mean like the salt used on roads and sidewalks in winter? Will that keep things from growing? Isn’t it bad for pet feet though?

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it’s not the best thing for pet feet but It’s way safer than roundup. You can at least spot treat some stubborn weeds if you need

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It will kill plants and it is definitely harmful. Just less harmful than the weedkiller you might buy at a hardware store.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All honestly vinegar works, long Time low cost Leaf dues root shrinks Treat again

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Or boiling water

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I've never tried this and was wondering if its worth the energy and resources.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Doesn’t do well on roots either. But better than flame.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I pour boiling water on dandelions after they flower but before they seed. It works but it doesn’t stop them generally. I’m ok with that.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'll try a couple and see what happens. Weeds are in the grass though.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Same, it doesn’t seem to affect the grass at all tho, just shrivels the dandy. Much better than weed killer of any kind I feel.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It sure beats roundup

4 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 7

Roundup is perfectly safe if you have some simple protective gear and aren't an idiot. Hell of a lot cheaper than the fuel this uses, too.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Those run for hours on a single propane tank. I can refill one for $12. Roundup is still infinitely more effective than this method though.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

And cancer

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It doesn’t. For many weeds, the flame doesn’t get the root and it just comes back. Roundup does. Used according to the label it is safe.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

Ok Mr. McClearlynotaroundupspokesperson

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

There are people who ignore established science and show/share/believe unverified scientific reports saying vaccines are harmful.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Accepted studies say Roundup as used according to label is safe. Citizen juries have ruled otherwise. Don’t confuse that with science.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can confirm. My brother bought one if these to clear out some quack grass in his garden - the effect is short-term & cosmetic for stuff...

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

...with established roots.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That stuff is fucking terrible

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 8

Roundup is this era's asbestos. Asbestos cause mesothelioma and Roundup cause non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Yeah, my dad passed 2 months ago from non Hodgkins. Linked to roundup.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I’m so sorry to read that :( I had non-hodgkins about a decade ago when I was 21. Probably from roundup too.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I use roundup and its great, pet friendly and weeds are dead in 3 hours

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 16

I think the point they're making is about it's environmental impact, not efficacy.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Even aside from the cancer it is absolutely awful for the environment. Where I live the dnr has banned its use because it is destroying the

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not an acute toxin but it will give you cancer when you are older.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

And the bees are dead the next week!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Dunno how it can kill bees if it's pet friendly ?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Glyphosate (the active ingredient) is absolutely not pet safe. They also lost a class action lawsuit as it causes non hodgkin's lymphoma

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

The roundup I have has no glysophate in it, gold bottle

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The lawsuit they lost was decided by a jury, and wasn't the scientific consensus that there was no true link to cancer? A lawsuit does not >
